Every year the state awards young Ukrainian scientists for outstanding achievements that contribute to further scientific and social progress and affirm the high authority of domestic science in the world.
The Decree of the President of Ukraine of December 16, 2021, №659 / 2021 awarded 40 Prizes of the President of Ukraine for young scientists. Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute researchers are among them.
The project “Innovative technologies to increase the life of load-bearing elements of gas turbine engines” by the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute” and the Zaporizhzhia Polytechnic National University developed and presented calculation models, modeling, and experimental research resulting in increased durability and endurance of the load-bearing elements of the engine. The results have been implemented at the industrial enterprises of Motor Sich JSC and Ivchenko-Progress ZMKB. Among the authors of the project are Ph.D. (Engin.) Anton Lavrinenkov, Department of Aircraft Manufacturing Technologies of the ERIME and Ph.D. (Engin.) Andrii Zilinskyi, Applied Fluid Mechanics and Mechatronics Department of the ERIME.
Following the Resolution of Ukraine of December 1, 2021, № 1918-IX, the Verkhovna Rada awarded thirty creative teams of young scientists the Verkhovna Rada Prize for 2020. Traditionally, one can find Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute researchers among them.
The project “Improving the efficiency of final energy consumption by socially important users (on the example of the most energy-intensive consumers of Ukraine: population and metallurgy)” brought the award to Vitalii Opryshko, Ph. D. (Engin.) from the Department of Power Supply of the ERIEE, as part of the project team.
The project “Development of multifunctional materials for resource-saving environmentally friendly technologies” gave the prize to the team of scientists of the Department of Ecology and Plant Polymers Technology of the FCE. The project team included Ph. D.s (Engin.) and Associate Professors Inna Trus, Viktoria Vorobyova, and Vita Halysh.
Young researchers of the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the FCT Ph. D.s (Engin.) and Associate Professor Georgii Vasyliev, Assistants Dmytro Ushchapovskyi and Svitlana Nahirniak, and Assistant Oleksandr Linyuchev will receive the award for the project “Complex of Corrosion and Environmental Monitoring Tools for Preservation of the Metal Fund of Ukraine”.
Finally, Yevhen Solodkyi, Ph. D.s (Engin.), Associate Professor of the Department of High-Temperature Materials and Powder Metallurgy of Y. O. Paton Educational and Research Institute of Materials Science and Welding will receive the award for the work “Creation of multifunctional composite materials from powders of refractory compounds for extreme operating conditions”.
Young scientists of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute are grateful for the recognition and targeted support of their work, additional opportunities for fundamental and applied research, scientific and technical developments in priority areas of science and technology. The approval indicates the state's interest in enhancing the prestige of scientists.
