The paradise apple tree, which grows near the building #1 of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, received the status of a botanical natural monument. Its age is more than 160 years.
As Denys Moskal, a deputy of the Kyiv City Council, the head of the standing committee on environmental policy, noted, the apple tree is the oldest one in Kyiv.
"The tree has historical, ecological and aesthetic value," said Denys Moskal.
