The seminar "Economic cooperation between Poland and Ukraine", organized by the Section of Alumni of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in Poland and dedicated to its centenary, took place in Wroclaw on May 27-29, 2022.
The seminar was organized jointly with the Poland-East Cooperation Centre and took place in the club of the Centre. The first part of it was the 15th Congress of alumni of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. It was chaired by Pavlo Vehetskyi. The report for four years of work was presented to the participants by of head of the Section Janusz Fuksa. They also got the information of the treasurer Henrik Bukalskyi. The representative of the National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" Professor Viktor Korzh presented several activists of the Section with diplomas from the Rector of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Michael Zgurovsky. In addition, a new board of the Section was elected at the congress. Janusz Fuksa became its chairman again, Pavlo Vehetskyi became the first deputy, Sylvester Lewytskyi and Ioanna Lyasovska became the deputies, Henrik Bukalskyi was elected the treasurer, Barbara Borovska-Satlava, Dorota Jaworska, Veslav Kazana, Tadeusz Miksa and Eugeniusz Turyk became members of the board. Those present agreed that the position of the secretary for Internet Affairs of the Section should be taken by Andrzej Mnich, without his inclusion into the board.
In the second part of the meeting, a debate took place, in which the co-organizers took part - the chairman of the Lower Silesian Board of the Poland-East Cooperation Centre, Andrzej Mordel and the vice-chairman of this board, Józef Sowa. Jacek Ossowski, the mayor's representative for higher education, spoke at the seminar on behalf of the city mayor of Wrocław .
A report on the state of Ukraine's economy was delivered by Janusz Fuksa, then Pavlo Vehetskyi reported on Polish-Ukrainian cooperation. Professor Andrzej Malkevich presented information about the current military situation in Ukraine. Dorota Yavorska, who came from the Ukrainian capital, spoke about the current situation in Kyiv as a witness of the dramatic events developing in Ukraine.
The participants of the congress and seminar received jubilee medals, an album published for the centenary of the Section, brochures about its activities during the last four years, as well as commemorative postcards. They also had the opportunity to see hundreds of joint photos on the screen. The organizers of the seminar were Janusz Fuksa with his daughter Iwona Fuksa-Krupiazh and Ioanna Lyaskovska.
After the meeting, the participants visited the Ratslavitsa Panorama and the Museum of Illusions, and took a tour of Tumsky Island.
