On May 18-19, 2021, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Open University Student Olympiad e-government took place. The Department of Theory and Practice of Management of the Faculty of Sociology and Law organized E-Governance Competition 2021. More than 50 participants from 19 higher education institutions participated in the Competition. Students of all specialties, not just in 281 Public Administration and Administration, could try their hand in the Open University Student Olympiad.
A prominent part of the Competition, besides testing, became government officials, representatives of professional programs, and the business community. One of the major awards was the opportunity to do internships at ministries, partners sponsoring the Olympiad, and mentoring. The winners also received EGAP backpacks, power banks, and gift certificates to one of the online bookstores.
The E-Governance Competition 2021 included activities and tasks from the partners:
- training workshop from Sofia Sakalosh (EGAP Coordinator of the digital tools implementation in communities),
- tasks from the EGAP program (E-Governance for Accountability and Participation Program);
- training workshop from Director of the Directorate for e-Government Development of the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mstislav Banik;
- individual and team tasks from the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine;
- two team tasks from the Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine;
- training workshop “Digitalization of distance learning - what the media will not tell” from Deputy Minister of Education for Digital Transformation Artur Seletsky;
- online lecture “Development of e-government in Ukraine and modern challenges” (IT company BWN GROUP)
- online lecture “U-Report as an opportunity to implement e electronic democracy” (All-Ukrainian Youth Center).
The winners and prize-winners of individual competitions, among whom are students of specialty 281 Public Administration, have been determined according to the results of the Open University Student Olympiad. Also, the partners of the Competition, EGAP, and the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, determined the winners in six nominations. The Ministry of Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine, together with the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine, has selected the winning team of the team competition.
