Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic University together with Delfast company(the developer of the electric bike-record-breaker) are going to create the RnD-center (Research And Development, Research and Development Center). This one and other issues were discussed during the Delfast’s represantatives meeting with students on November 4 at the KPI’s Library.
The company's employees have stated their ambitious intentions: to create - no more, no less - the Ukrainian Silicon Valley. “World universities always contribute to the development of projects. Silicon Valley appeared around Stanford. Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic University is the Stanford that may be in Ukraine. Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic University is the first university with which we start cooperation. Sikorsky, Korolev(ingenious inventors who developed unique helicopters, rockets) worked here. We also create transport, so we develop Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic University’s traditions,”says Danylo Tonkopiy, CEO of Delfast.
Oksana Yurchyshyn, an associate professor of the Department of Machine Tools and Machine Design at MMI, sees no less inspiring prospects: “We met with representatives of the company during an exhibition in Zaporozhye. They asked where to find professionals who can design, know about electronics, and more. And now there is a presentation of the company, a meeting with students, - says Ms. Oksana. - The next step is to create a common RnD center. Our goal is to get the task from the manufacturers to get students involved and create a real popular product that will hit the market. Students will be able to work directly with the company. It will facilitate cooperation between the faculties and the work of students from different fields of knowledge. "
