On May, 23, in Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute the first interdepartmental meeting on introduction in life of the "Unmanned quadcopter aircraft for special purposes" project, developed by specialists of the university, took place.
This project was one of those, which were recognized as the winner of the competition, which has been recently held at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. According to the description, presented to the jury, the project is based on the development and application of new original methods, in particular, regarding the design and manufacture of a power carrier platform based on the modular approach (this will ensure the use of the developed BPAC for different types of payload); development and manufacturing of a power carrier platform based on the modular approach (this will ensure its use for different types of payload); development of a hardware complex that will implement control and navigation algorithms, etc. At the same time, improvement of the efficiency and quality of the design solution for the developed aviation complex is planned to be achieved using the developed hardware and software.
By the way, the author of this development became the first of those with whom was signed a protocol of intent to implement it in production.
The meeting, headed by the pro-rector on scientific work of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Mykhailo Ilchenko, was attended by experts and the Chairman of the Board of OJSC "Meridian", representatives of the Military Research Department of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Central Research Institute of Arms and Military Equipment of the Armed Forces Ukraine, State Concern "Ukroboronprom" and six institutes and faculties of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, which will take part in the development of the project.
The participants of the meeting discussed some technical parameters of the unmanned system, as well as the issue of creating the necessary conditions for starting work on the implementation of this project, its stages and individual organizational aspects, including an interaction between performers, etc.
Also, agreements were reached on the creation of a joint working group, which will include representatives of all interested in the development of departments and specialists of the university.
