From October 15 to 19, the second scientific and technical conference with international participation “Non-destructive control in the context of Ukraine's associate membership in the European Union - NDT-UA 2018” took place in Kalenchuv, Poland. The organizers of the conference were the Ukrainian Society for Non-Destructive Testing and Technical Diagnostics (UTNKTD), the Training Center for Non-Destructive Control of PP “DP-TEST” and the Chair of Instruments and Non-destructive Testing Systems (PNNK) of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
Participants of the conference were able to listen to reports on actual innovations in legislation and technical regulations, standardization, certification and prospects for the development of science in the field of non-destructive testing. The head of the department, professor A.G. Protasov took part in the conference (report “Problems of Training of NDT Specialists in Ukraine”), assistant professor R.M. Galagan (report “Work experience of the circle “Robotics and Automation” from the Department of Instruments and Systems of Nondestructive Testing), O.V. Lashko (report “Application of modern methods of psychological and pedagogical support in the organization of training sessions for future engineers from instruments and systems for monitoring and diagnostics”) and Yu.Yu. Lysenko (report “Usage of Parametric Transducers in Pulsed Eddy Current Testing”).
Within the framework of the conference there were master classes and seminars with the participation of leading specialists on the following issues:
- European technical legislation, modern notions about the quality of non-destructive testing and tools for its definition (Olexander Skordev, Ph.D., professor, expert on EU technical legislation, NDT-auditor, R. Bulgaria);
- Changes in the process of certification of magnetically-porous, visual and capillary control specialists according to ISO 9712 (Svitlana Shchupak, leading expert on personnel certification and standardization in the field of non-destructive testing, UTNKTD, Ukraine);
In addition, a meeting of the technical committee “Non-destructive inspection and technical diagnostics” of the TC-78 Derzhspozhyvstandart of Ukraine took place (representatives of the PSCO cabinet are an official member of the committee from January 2018).
Also, prototypes of new computer integrated flaw detectors were demonstrated at the conference: ultrasonic (ULTRACON LLC) and vortex current (FVI named after G.V.Karpenko in cooperation with Germany). Implementation of functional capabilities in new devices caused a lively discussion by scientists and leading specialists.
The “Non-destructive control in the context of Ukraine's associate membership in the European Union - NDT-UA 2018” provided its participants with possibility to discuss important issues of developing the field of non-destructive control. The process of preparation the specialists in the sphere and to define directions of further work.
