On January 22-26, 2018 Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and the University of Oslo (Norway) held a school for young mathematicians and students "Stochastic Analysis, Probability Theory and Related Issues" in Oslo.
Among the participants of the school were 8 students and 8 young scientists as well as four experienced lecturers from the Department of Mathematical Analysis and Probability Theory of the FMF from our university.
The school was organized within the framework of the joint project of the Department of Mathematical Analysis and Probability Theory and the Institute of Mathematics of the University of Oslo, where outstanding mathematician Nils Abel used to work.
In 2017-2019 the cooperation between two institutions in the field of mathematical education is to be funded by the Norwegian Center of International Cooperation within the EURASIA program.
The school program included lecture courses by Norwegian professors B.Oksendal. T.Lindstrom and A.Bachouch on various applications of modem stochastic analysis, particularly in the tasks of financial mathematics which is the FMF students' speciality in the Department of Mathematical Analysis and Probability Theory.
At the request of Norwegian colleagues, the professors of the department. A.A.B.Ilienko and I.V.Orlovskyi shared their experience in the organisation and conduct of mathematical clubs for talented young people. They also held masterclasses on two mathematical topics that raised great interest among Norwegian students. The conduct of such masterclasses is to be continued as Norway seeks to succeed at the International Mathematical Olympiad, which will take place in Oslo in 2020. Managers of the joint project. Prof. F.Proske and O.I.Klesov outlined the plans for further work on the project.
