In spring, was held the final stage of the All-Ukrainian competition of student's academic affairs on discipline "CAD and Computer Modeling in Mechanical Engineering". At the external conference, the scientific work of the 2nd year student of integrated technologies of mechanical engineering department, MMI Sergey Yatsuka "Computer-integrated software and hardware complex of control of the microgeometry of the cutting edge" got the first place, and gave the dust to 21 academic affairs of representatives of various Ukrainian universities.
Sergei's work is devoted to the currently important scientific and technical aims - the automation of measuring the microgeometry of tool tip and the computer modeling of three-D microgeometry, which is extremely relevant for modern methods of high-speed and high-efficient cutting materials processing. The hardware and software complex created within the framework of its work is not inferior to the best foreign samples, but has a significantly lower cost and fewer restrictions. The project consists of two interconnected parts: hardware complex with a microcontroller control and software for the microcontroller and the computer, by which the automation of measurement processes, data transmission to the computer, calculation of the parameters of the edge microgeometry and the visualization of the results are carried out.
It is important to note that this victory is not the first significant Sergei Yatsuka’s achievement , who fall for computer science and robotics. At school, Sergey took an active part in contests and competitions in computer science and engineering, and won prize-winning places at regional Olympiads in physics. Among his achievements - the second place in the contest of scientific and technical projects of students Intel-Techno Ukraine 2014-2015 in the category "Engineering" and victory in the third stage of the All-Ukrainian competition for the protection of research works of students of the Academy of Sciences of Ukraine sections "Scientific and technical creativity and invention ".
The interest in the combination of mechanics and informatics logically led Sergey to the Mechanical Engineering Institute. Already in the first year, he expressed his desire to join the scientific engineering creativity in the laboratory of measuring equipment of the MMI, where under the direction of the laboratorys head O.Plivak and assistant professor V.V Vovka took part in the laboratory. The result of the persistent two-year work was a victory in the competition for academic affairs.
Currently, the student is working on the creation of computerized complexes for measuring complex surfaces on the basis of the coordinate-measuring complex "Mitutoyo", which will significantly increase the productivity of such a complex and expand its technological capabilities. This work is very relevant for the development of the material base and methodological providing with teaching the students at "Instrumental systems and technology forming parts" department, as well as for the new master's program "Engineering design". Sergey also takes an active part in the work of the student circle "Mobile Robot Systems" of the ITM department, whose participants under the direction of assistant professor D.O. Krasnovid step by step implement the project of creating a humanoid robot "Poppy".
We wish the winner an inexhaustible inspiration, an unceasing move forward and the conquest of new scientific peaks.
