In December 2017 the scientific school "Technology of organization and implementation of scientific research in mathematics" was organized by the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Insitute in cooperation with the Department of Education and Science of the Kyiv Regional State Administration and the Kyiv Regional Public School "Junior Academy of Sciences for Students of Youth" (JAYS).
The participants listened with interest to the report of the head of the Department of Mathematical Analysis and Probability Theory A. Klesov about modern applications of mathematics in cryptography, and watched a video about the discipline "Elements of theory and cryptography," which is taught to students of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics.
Acting Head of the Department of Mathematical Physics V. Horbachuk told the audience about the logic of building scientific research on mathematics, A. Matviichuk described the stages of the scientific research and the components of the report on it, T. Chyzhska - on the example of successful scientific work at the Junior Academy of Ukraine Contest, and Т. Avdieieva - on the presentation of the results of scientific research.
A. Dovzhenko and V. Samar conducted excursions in the faculty's training and research laboratories for participants of the school.
More than 100 pupils of 9-11 grade of institutions of general secondary education of the Kyiv region took part in the school "Technology of organization and implementation of scientific research in mathematics". They were members of the Kyiv regional department of JAYS and teachers, heads of student research works on the Scientific Department of Mathematics. The event was organized as part of the professional-organizational work of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics with talented young people.
