On November, 13 the ceremony of awarding the winners of the All-Ukrainian student Olympiads on basic subjects and the All-Ukrainian competition for the protection of research works of pupils - members of the Small Academy of Sciences of Ukraine diplomas of the winners of the scholarship of the President of Ukraine was held in the KPI.
The winners of all-Ukrainian competitions and Olympiads were welcomed and presented with diplomas. Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Lilia Grinevich, President of the Minor Academy of Sciences, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Stanislav Dovgy, Rector of the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Michael Zgurovskiy, head of the department of extracurricular education, educational work and children's rights protection at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine Alla Serednytska and Head of the Department of the Institute of Modernization of the content of education Tetyana Ginetova were among the participants of the ceremony. In addition, the award winner, the youngest scholar who took the 1st place at the 3rd stage of the All-Ukrainian competition for the protection of scientific research, was congratulated by the head of the First Kyiv Regional Department of the PJSC “UkrSibbank” bank, Maxim Los.
“Ukraine is in the crucial period. This is the time to create a new stage of statehood. We are today restoring our subjectivity as an independent country; a country that has chosen a European vector of integration and development; a country that is actively developing its humanitarian, technical and scientific spheres. And the main driver of our country's growth must be innovation. Innovation in all industries, “ said Lilia Grinevych, speaking to young laureates. - You, friends, are the source of these innovations. Therefore, I look around this hall, and I understand that today the cream of the crop of the whole of Ukraine is gathered here. And you will have to make your own contribution to the creation of a new Ukraine!”
The scholarships of the President of Ukraine are intended for young researchers. For its intellectual achievements this year, 270 scholars will receive UAH 2,200 a month throughout the year. Among them - 150 winners of pupils' subject competitions and 120 - All-Ukrainian competition-defense. 42 of them received this distinction the second time, 7 - the third time.
The vast majority of these scholars and graduates of MAS then become students of Ukrainian universities. Many of them, as Michael Zgurovskyi noted in his speech, also study at the National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic”. By this, incidentally, the presentation of the diplomas of the President of Ukraine for the scholarship of yesterday's members of the Academy of Sciences, which are now the first-year students of several departments of the KPI became a proof. These are Anna Volskaya (faculty of management and marketing), Jan Zhabur (Mechanical Engineering Institute), Anatoly Sanzharovsky (Faculty of Applied Mathematics), Zahar Ostrovsky (Institute for Applied Systems Analysis), Anastasiya Shapoval (Faculty of Biotechnology and Biotechnology) and five students of the faculty of Informatics and Computer Science – Maxim Kuvichka, Vsevolod Ambros, Alexander Pokhilenko, Ivan Bondar, Volodymyr Shumsky.
During the break, Lilia Grinevych spoke to journalists of the Ukrainian media at a short briefing. Among other things, she emphasized that today it is very important that after graduating from high school, talented children not only studied at Ukrainian universities and had the opportunity to gain knowledge also abroad, but that they then enriched their country with their intelligence and could find a place for self-realization and disclosure of their own potential in Ukraine.
