On October, 25, the First Secretary of Science and Technology of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Ukraine Zhang Wei, whose term of office in our country has ended not so long ago, and his successor, Zhang Jie, visited the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
The guests have met with Vice-rector on international cooperation of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Sergiy Sydorenko and the head of the department of foreign economic activity of the Department of International Cooperation Andriy Shysholin. The results of the University's cooperation with universities and research organizations in China were discussed during the meeting. The diplomatic mission of the People's Republic of China in Kyiv provides significant assistance in establishing partnership with Chinese counterparts. Therefore, the main points on the issues raised by the participants in the conversation were plans for further work to deepen cooperation between the KPI and the Chinese universities in two areas, educational and scientific ones along with innovation activities. Sergiy Sydorenko has distinguished among the most promising projects the establishment of the Confucius Institute on the basis of the KPI, the foundation of a Ukrainian-Chinese research institution based in the Guangzhou City (PRC, Guangdong), the implementation of new joint projects with the University of Hangzhou (People's Republic of China, Zhejiang province) ) research projects, etc.
At the end, Zhang Jui handed Sergiy Sydorenko a list of proposals for new promising directions of common work with the Kyiv Polytechnics, which were sent to her by representatives of educational and research organizations of the People's Republic of China beforehand.
