Ukrainian and Polish days of education, science and innovations is the most remarkable event in its way. They are hold with the assistance of Ministry of Science and Higher Education in Poland, Ministry of Education and Science and an active part of Fund of education system development, National coordinating center “Horizon 2020”, National technical university of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv polytechnic institute” and Educational Foundation “Perspectives”.
“This is a remarkable event for our countries, since many Ukrainian students – more than four thousand are studying in Poland, - Emiliia Yasuik told. – Unfortunately, there are not so many Polish students in Ukraine – from seven hundred to one thousand but we believe that it is important to have their numbers decreased. Apart from student exchanges involvement into scientific and innovative projects as well as cooperation between higher educational establishments of Ukraine and Poland in programs of European Union are of great importance”.
One of the main events of Ukrainian-Polish days will be Forum of rectors of higher technical educational establishments of Poland and Ukraine, hold by the Conference of rectors of technical universities of Republic of Poland and Association of rectors of higher technical educational establishments of Ukraine. According to Sergii Sydorenko, such representative meeting will take place for the third time: the first one was hold in 2009 in NTUU “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv polytechnic institute”, second – in 2014 on the basis of Lviv polytechnics. Current forum is the biggest one. Eighty four rectors and pro-rectors of Polish technical higher educational establishments indicated interest to take part in it. The whole Polish delegation consists of almost two hundred and fifty teaching staff members (they will certainly take part not only in Forum of heads of technical educational establishments but also in other events of programs of Ukrainian and Polish days of education, science and innovations). Almost ninety heads and their deputies will represent Ukrainian technical universities. In total, more than two hundred participants from Ukrainian higher educational establishments will take part in Forum.
“The main purpose of our meeting is to build a “highway” that will link Poland and Ukraine in the field of science and education”, - stressed Valdemar Sivinskyi. He also added that both Polish and Ukrainian have good scientific accomplishments so they should join their efforts towards creation of shared projects for participation in research programs of European Union.
The program of two-day forum with the participation of rectors of Polish and Ukrainian technical universities envisages plenary sessions and seven parallel round tables devoted to different fields of scientific cooperation – international and external economic activity of technical higher educational establishments as factor of their internationalization, European accreditation of engineering education and engineers certification, implementation of double degree programs, common participation in EU projects in the framework of program “Horizon 2020” and contacts development in terms of program “Erasmus+” etc. And certainly there will be issues of start-up schools network development and creation of common innovative environments discussed.
Ukrainian and Polish days of education, science and innovations will end on April, 7 with great concert with assistance of the best performance ensembles of Polish and Ukrainian universities. Kasia Moś who will represent Poland in the final of Eurovision this year will be its special guest.
