The awareness of the truth "who wants to learn - finds opportunities who do not want - seeks excuse" again confirmed the conversation with the six-year-student of FAKS Svyatoslav Fedorchenko – is the winner of the All-Ukrainian Olympiad on specialization "Aviation and Missile and Space Industry". On the Freshman’s Day along with other champions he stepped into the “Area of Knowledge” under the applause of those present.
Comparing the feedback from students from other universities with whom he met at the Olympiad at the Kharkiv Aviation Institute on the quality of the training of specialists, the young man was proud to be convinced that deep fundamental training at the junior courses of the Kyiv Polytechnic helps to flexibly focus on the diversity of special subjects and applied tasks that have to be solved by the elders courses.
Today Svyatoslav is interested in neural networks and fuzzy logic, which allow to create algorithms and mathematical models for decision making under conditions of incomplete and fuzzy information. With such tasks he faces, in particular, in the design of aircraft control systems, orientation and navigation. In practical work, the student relies on the knowledge acquired in the National Technical University of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and with independent study. Although it is difficult to name the laboratory base at the department as the newest (unlike the same Kharkiv Aviation Institute), the young specialists of FAKS, if desired, find work in their specialty in Ukraine.
He thanks lecturers of the Department of Instruments and Control Systems for Aircraft: Senior Lecturer V.V.Gavrilenko - taught materials science and instrumentation technology - "helped to become whom I became"; prof. LM Rizhkov - taught the basic special courses on automatic control and navigational instrument making - "knows a lot, is very interesting to teach, gives a fundamental basis with which everything becomes clear"; Associate Professor M.G. Chernyak - taught the theory of measurements and sensitive controls of aircraft - "for a clear explanation of possible perspectives in the life of each student during four years of study".
Recalling the years of study, Svyatoslav is inclined to think that influencing the formation of students and respect teachers who are able to interest listeners, stimulate and guide students to the new and explain where it is possible to use the acquired knowledge.
Now he is working on a master's degree, studding on the latest scientific publications and "working for his future." Svyatoslav Fedorchenko is an active, ambitious and purposeful person, he always has a chance to find use of his knowledge and skills. Such people seek to combine incompatible, achieve more with less effort, transform knowledge into actions, and actions - on result. It is important for them not only to study formulas and theorems, to know what is composed and what is called, but how it works and if it can be improved.
