It is hard to imagine a modern active and busy person, who does not use any digital technologies and up-to-date gadgets. Almost each of us actively uses a smartphone or tablet: take a call, look through e-mails, surf Internet.
Today, the number of mobile devices in the world is about 3 billion. According to Mobile Future’s forecast this number will increase to 11,6 billion by 2020. The research, conducted by Global Webindex, shows that one user has an average of 3,64 devices.
We become increasingly dependent on information, we need a regular contact with digital media. And they, in turn, are dependent on the availability of power. So, the problem of timely device charging is very important.
Two students of KPI – Yaroslav Burkovskyi, the 3-rd year RTF (Radio- Engineering Faculty) student, and Anton Smyrnov, the 3-rd year IPT (Institute of Physics and Technology) student, decided to "simplify life" for themselves and others users of electronics. Innovators offered to get rid of wires and adapters congestion and facilitate simultaneous charging of several devices. To do this, they set up a wireless charger, able to automatically adjust the charge level. They already produced a prototype (as in the picture below) and the necessary software for automatic operation of "charging."
This device, called WiSharge, allows to: simultaneously charge multiple devices; automatically adjust charging; auto turn-off/on of "charging." The product uses technology of resonant interaction, that allows to increase capacity, reduce heat and reduce heat and increase the efficiency of the charging process. The result is convenience, energy savings, reducing the cost and improving the reliability of the device.
The students presented their project at the Sikorsky Challenge competition. It was understood and supported by specialists. Among others the device was recognized as the winner. The Michailevich fund of Ukraine scientific and technical development signed with the authors of the memorandum on cooperation.
