One of the important aspects of the educational, scientific and innovative activity of students of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is their participation in contests and competitions of scientific student's works. A leading INSTITUTION in Ukraine can be proud of the significant achievements of its faculty and students not only in engineering, engineering, chemistry and computer sciences, but also progress in the economic area. In particular, the staff of the Department of Economics and entrepreneurship, faculty of management and marketing, headed by Professor P. V. Crusham joined the creative group of highly qualified specialists in the field of economic Sciences that prepare students to participate in national and international competitions, Olympiads and projects. Training is conducted in the following disciplines: "Economics of enterprise", "Investment", "Tax system", "Insurance", "Finance", "Regional economy", "Production", "Planning and control of the enterprise", "Project analysis", "Development potential of the enterprise", "Economics and organization of innovation activity", "Strategy", "Planning and control in the enterprise." In addition, the task of teachers is the identification and development of scientific potential of students, the deepening of the information base of economic disciplines, as well as providing the opportunity to check and consolidate their knowledge of subjects. Student participation is a logical result, the theoretical knowledge and practical skills, a chance to test their strength and prove that the students of NTUU "Igor Sikorsky KPI" – one of the best. Extremely high achieving students in this direction suggests that our University has a powerful economic education, and the graduates of the faculty of management and marketing can successfully compete in the labour market with graduates of the leading economic universities.
An important step in preparing students for nationwide competitions is the annual Department of Economics and entrepreneurship internal competition which is called "Know thyself in the economy." To participate in the competition is open to all interested students, both economic and technical specialties. This event provides an opportunity to identify the most gifted students, who are invited to participate in the Ukrainian competitions.
Thus, the result of the work in this direction was the participation of students in national Olympiads, organized in Poltava national technical University named after Yuri Kondratyuk, self-governing (Autonomous) research national University, Kyiv national economic University named after Vadym Hetman, national University of state tax service of Ukraine and others.
The biggest achievement of the Department of Economics and entrepreneurship in this area in 2016 was winning the student of the 4th course K. Kostyukova (group UE-21), which took second place in the II stage of Ukrainian student Olympiad on specialty "enterprise Economy", which took place on April 19-21, 2016 at the Poltava national technical University. Yuri Kondratyuk.
Also, the results of the II stage of Ukrainian student Olympiad on science "Regional economy" was held in the KNEU them. Vadym Hetman 20-22 April 2016, the students of the Department of Economics and business have the following achievements:
– S. Lark (group UE-41) took the I place in nomination "modern approaches";
– A. Serdyuk (group UE-52) took the II place in the nomination "logical thinking";
– A. Miller (group UK-52) took the I place in the nomination "For the reasonableness of opinions."
These high results indicate a high level of professionalism of teachers in the Department of Economics and business and the powerful potential of students of economic specialties of NTUU "Igor Sikorsky KPI".
The creative group of the Department of Economics and business, actively preparing students to participate in competitions of scientific works. Students of the Department for the sixth consecutive year taking part in all-Ukrainian contest of graduation works of students of specialty "Economics of enterprise", which in 2016 was carried out on the basis of Kharkiv national automobile and highway University.
A significant achievement in 2016 is:
– diploma degree student of specialty "Economics of enterprise" by Yaroslava Prokopenko for the thesis on "the Economic substantiation of directions of increase of efficiency of production activity the state enterprise "Antonov" affiliate "Serial plant "Antonov", executed under the direction of C. E. S., associate Professor of Economics and entrepreneurship A. V. Grechko;
– diploma of II degree student of specialty "Economics of enterprise" Elena Maksimkina for the thesis topic "performance of a personnel policy for the sustainable development of PJSC "Motor Sich", made under the leadership of C. E. S., associate Professor of Economics and business, V. P. Cautis;
– diploma III degree student of specialty "Economics of enterprise" Vitaly Kaydash for the thesis on theme "improvement of the strategy of financial stabilization of the enterprise", implemented under the guidance of C. E. S., associate Professor of Economics and entrepreneurship M. V. Casino.

Julia Pletneva on the theme "Management of yield www "mine dobropolsky" LLC "DTEK Dobropolyeugol", performed under the guidance of doctor of Economics, Professor.M. Marchenko, has won a victory in the nomination "For deep theoretical study";
Maria Medintseva on the topic "cost Management of PJSC "kernel" with the aim of improving its investment attractiveness", performed under the guidance of doctor of Economics, Professor.M. Marchenko, has won a victory in the nomination "For actuality of the research theme";
Julia Konovalova on the theme "Improvement of profit generation with the purpose of increase of efficiency of activity of OOO "EVROMET" executed under the direction of C. E. S., associate Professor Y. V. Tulino, won in the nomination "For a detailed analysis of the enterprise activities";
Ashot Gevorgyan on the theme "effective management of the profitability of the enterprise" carried out under the supervision Ph. D. in Economics, associate Professor O. A. Podlesnaya, won in the nomination "For the appropriate application of modern methods of studies";
- Catherine Prus on the topic "the Economic substantiation of directions of growth of profitableness of activity of the enterprise "Rivne wholesale-retail Association" environmental protection", implemented under the guidance of doctor of Economics, Professor.M. Marchenko won in the nomination "For the appropriate application of modern methods of studies";
- Mary Trohimenko on the topic "the Economic substantiation of directions of increase of profitability of activities of OOO "BC "Leader", performed under the guidance of Ph. D. in Economics, associate Professor O. P. Cautis, won in the nomination "For a visual representation of the results of the study".
Evidence of the high professionalism of the teachers of the Department of Economics and entrepreneurship in students is to win the national competition of student scientific works on natural, technical and humanitarian Sciences 2015/2016 academic year in the direction "Economics and enterprise management", which took place in self-governing (Autonomous) DOS lanicka national University, Kyiv national economic University-versity named after Vadym Hetman, Catherine Prus, who took 2nd place for Ukraine and received a diploma of II degree for scientific student work done under the leadership of D.E., Ph. D., Professor.M.Marchenko.
Achievements of students of the Department of Economics and entrepreneurship, testify to the high quality of training specialists in the specialty "Economics of enterprise" at the National technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. Igor Sikorsky", which proves the feasibility and high efficiency of teaching economic disciplines in technical colleges and allows you to bring a new level of interaction between technical and economic Sciences. The participation of students in nationwide competitions and contests is a good practice to realize their potential, and to broaden the range of scientific interests.
