February 10 representatives of university student organizations met with the new chief of Solomenskiy police Department of the Main Directorate of the National police in Kiev by Pavel Vasilenko.
The meeting was also attended by rector NTUU "KPI" Michael Zgurovsky, pro-rector Petro Kirichek, Deputy chief of Solomianskyi police Department Victor Mikhailenko, head of the Department of Yuri Baranov,staff `s chief of Public formation on protection of a public order of the University Vadim Kondratyuk and others.
"We are ex-police, now police is always actively cooperated, noted at the beginning of conversation rector of the University Michael Zgurovsky. Of course, it is a large university, many people only 30 thousand students, plus teachers, researchers and other staff. In this environment pulls a lot of "guests" from outside. And these "guests" sometimes create problems: to rob students and teachers there are conflicts. Therefore, we have established a system of internal security. These are our warriors and great service of protection. We have always tried to cooperate with police. Frankly, not everything worked, because there were sometimes very unpredictable situation, especially in spring or during any external disturbances. For example, during the Revolution of Dignity we organized on campus and defend our own territory guarded and protected ... We will try to cooperate to further, anything we can do will help. At the same time ask you and your subordinates to cooperate with our staff in order to our work will consistent and effective."
Participants discussed issues of cooperation between Solomyansky Police with the university, its departments and organizations for the protection of public order. In particular, it was agreed the issue of regular testing by the district campus Police and joint foot patrol the campus and campus police officers and HFOHP. Of course, said about the preventive measures, first of all about the meetings of police officers with students. Moreover, Paul Vasilenko promised to help in establishing interaction between the University and patrol police, which is now withdrawn from the jurisdiction of the district administration. We have also reached agreement on exchange of information between the press departments of the University and the Solomiansky district police Department.
