Over a thousand of future high school graduates and their parents visited Culture Center of KPI on December, 20th within Doors Open Day.
Before general meeting, girls and boys that have to make their choice on the future university to study at, had an opportunity to closer get acquainted with institutes and faculties of the university and also communicate with their deans as well as lecturers and students next to stands. Educational departments’ coworkers, besides, gave out different printed materials with more detailed information about directions and specializations, scientific specialization of departments, opportunities for further job placement, etc. There were so many visitors that they badly managed to occupy the hall where the meeting took place.
However, that was just the beginning of Doors Open Day. General information on new admission regulation rules to higher educational institutions, terms of admission campaign of 2016, list of subjects in external independent evaluation (ZNO) certificates, minimal points that the enrollee should obtain to enter KPI and so on was presented at the general meeting.
“NTUU “KPI” provides a wide spectra of educational opportunities”,-stated the first vice-rector of the university, academician of NAS of Ukraine, Yuriy Yakymenko on opening the meeting. – “Every faculty, every department tries to thoroughly track market needs, level of specialists’ preparation on certain specialties at European universities… So, the range of choice is very wide…” He also offered those who are particularly interested in studying at KPI to register at informational portal of the university www.kpi.ua that will give them an opportunity to know more details about specialties and specializations of chosen faculties, be the first to receive news about admission campaign, assess their chances to enter KPI, improve the educational level for further successful studies etc.
Valerii Mozharovskyi, the head deputy of Admission Commission of KPI, informed participants about new admission rules (for more details go to page of Admission Commission).
After that, Dmytro Afanasiev, head of Student Council of the University, had a word. He was talking about student self-governance at KPI, organization of education and recreation, opportunities that the university provides, sport facilities and artistic activity, about how interesting the student’s life at the university is.
Andrii Gavrushkevych, head of Trade Union Committee of KPI Students, spoke about more prosaic but still very important things. These were the questions on settling students in hostels, organization of students’ nutrition, recreation and relaxation, scholarship provision etc.
The meeting ended with answering parents’ and enrollees’ questions.
However, Doors Open Day didn’t finish on this. There were further presentations next to stands, and at faculties, departments of the university. Besides, the guests, the majority of whom will become KPI students, had the chance to look closer at bolide “KPI Formula” specially located at Knowledge Square and observe exhibition of the State Polytechnic Museum of NTUU “KPI”.
