The meeting of students and teachers with Russian photographer Svetlana Mamakina, who had traveled to Cuba and showed a large series of highly artistic photos "Journey to the island of dreams», was held on FSR (Faculty of sociology and right).
There was a lively discussion of the exhibition, which had widely documented the daily life of freedom-loving and cheerful Cubans, and also the architecture of the city and the nature of Cuba.
It should be mentioned that the Republic of Cuba has long-standing ties with KPI. At one time hundreds of Cuban students studied in our University, and in 2010 at the initiative of FSL the Conference "Grateful Ukraine to noble Cuba," was conducted in KPI which was dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the treatment program for Ukrainian children in Cuba. University initiated regular conference dedicated to Cuba.
Svetlana Mamakina lives and works in Monchegorsk in Russia and is department head of the Russian Society of Friendship with Cuba in the Murmansk region. She has traveled around the world and regularly arranges photo exhibition of what she had seen and what is artistically meaningful according to her creative project "Travel."
Svetlana G. – is the master of the genre and psychological portrait. The exhibition has achieved its goal. After viewing the photos you feel like you really visited interesting places of Cuba and met people of all ages and with a variety of professions, and the most important is that you feel like compelling immediacy of Cubans and their true natural goodness.
