The representative of the Polish Educational Foundation «PERSPEKTYWY» Professor Kazimierz Bilanov.visited NTUU "KPI" from 9 to 11 of April.
He got acquainted with the history and current activities of the university and its faculties and institutes, visited the State Polytechnic Museum of NTUU "KPI", met with the rector Michael Zgurovsky, Vice-Rector of the University and leading scientists. During the meeting they discussed areas of cooperation of NTUU "KPI" with Polish universities within the framework of Ukrainian-Polish Centre of the University and the participating of Kiev Polytechnic delegation in the meetings of the General Assembly and Conference IREG (International Organization of academic achievement and rankings of higher education institutions) in May of this year
"The main purpose of my visit is finalizing an agreement to resume full-scale linkages between technical universities in Poland and Ukraine - he said to the press service of the University. - Such relationships were before but now it's time to enter a new higher level to establish a new quality of cooperation and specify its trends and topics. The contract must be signed by April, 24. To do this, the Rector of Polish Technical University of Wroclaw Prof. Tadeusz Vyentskovsky came to Kyiv. Technical universities in Ukraine have very high level, so our universities of the same profile can not only work with them, but also connect them with our partners from the academic community in the European Union. As for the Foundation «PERSPEKTYWY» - for the last seven or eight years it is actively cooperating with Ukraine, KPI, where Ukrainian-Polish center was opened, so Ukrainian theme is always in focus of our attention. "
As for the questions about the perspectives for expansion of student exchanges between Polish and Ukrainian universities Kazimierz Bilanov said that the first stage of the revival of academic contact should be the collaboration between scientists, establishing professional relationships with their gradual extension.
Professor Bilanov also said that during his visit he attended the National University of "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy", but that NTUU "KPI" is the basic platform for the Foundation «PERSPEKTYWY» for the deployment of broad cooperation of Polish and Ukrainian universities.
