March 27 in building № 7 of NTUU "KPI" the exhibition of the second part of the art contest "Talents of KPI" was opened.
The first part of the competition is traditionally held in autumn. Its members showed their drawings and paintings. During the second part, in spring, photos and work in computer graphics are usually exhibited. However, this year the usual format has slightly changed: graphic works by students of the university are also shown.
As this exhibition dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko, organizers decided to change the rules a little. There are also works of other themes – "My native KPI", "The world around us." Many of the photographs presented in these categories have much in common with the main theme of the exhibition, because there are landscapes and inhabitants of those places Great Kobzar thought and wrote about.
A separate section, which was presented by Student Council of the University campus called "Fotomaydan." These photos show a pungent moments of our time, which have not yet become history. Maidan`s heroes and their executioners, flame of resistance and smoky barricades, black dilapidated walls of the House of Trade Unions, avenue of "Heavenly sotnia" (street Institutskaja) with many flowers on the people deaths – all there in the photos. Some of works are really striking, because made literally «on the firing line». And the authors risked their life by making these pictures. This section looks very appropriate, because Taras Shevchenko is not only the great Ukrainian poet, artist and thinker-prophet, but also one of the main symbols of our Revolution dignity.
There are about 350 works at the exhibition presented by 65 participants. It will work until April 24.
