On March, a solemn meeting on the occasion of the 200th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko has been held at 12 NTUU "KPI". This meeting was the first event in a series of evenings, competitions, exhibitions and presentations scheduled at the University for the next two months.
The meeting was participated by the general director of the National Museum of Taras Shevchenko, writer, winner of the National Prize of Ukraine named after Taras Shevchenko Dmitry Stus, president of the Junior Academy of Sciences, corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Director of the Institute for Telecommunications and Global Information Space NASU Stanislav Dovgy, Academician of NAS of Ukraine, Honored Scientist of Ukraine Viktor Hrinchenko, deputy director of the Institute of Literature named after Taras Shevchenko National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Sergey Gal'chenko and others. Meeting was chaired by First Vice-Rector of the University, Academician of NAS of Ukraine Yuri Yakimenko.
Associate Professor of the Ukrainian language, literature and culture of the Faculty of Linguistics Lily Ozhogan started celebrations with report "Shevchenko lessons of freedom", dedicated to the value of the great Shevchenko and his searing relevance for us today.
After Sergey Galchenko told students and teachers of university about some extremely interesting information about the artistic legacy of Taras Shevchenko and the fate of his works. By the way, reproductions of some of the great works of Taras Shevchenko were placed on special easels along the walls of the hall of the Academic Council, where this meeting was held.
Director of the National Museum of Taras Shevchenko Dmitry Stus told the audience about new approaches in the presentation to the Ukrainian people and the world personality of our national genius and his work. In particular, he said about foundation of special web resource dedicated to Taras Shevchenko.
Stanislav Dovgy told more about the scientific and educational portal "Taras Shevchenko". He is the author of the idea and the main organizer to put it into practice. Actually, this portal is the brainchild of the Small Academy of Sciences, which he heads, although its creation were attended by over a thousand researchers of different aspects of the life and work of the great Shevchenko.
"There were not before so global, so large-scale projects that could inform the world community with the life and work of the great son of the Ukrainian people,- said in presenting the results of this work, Stanislav Dovgy. - We set out to create the Internet resource that must respond to all components of the academic level. That is, it was a question that each of its pages are designed by experts of the highest category - shevchenkovedami, literary critics, art historians, museum workers, and only then placed on the portal. On the one hand the aim of the portal is the educational component, ie the introduction of the Ukrainian and world community with the life and works of Taras Shevchenko, the other - the scientific component, which provides opportunities for pupils, students, postgraduate students, in a word, all interested in the study of life's journey Shevchenko and his work , to conduct their own research on the materials presented, discussing their results, etc. ... . "
The portal lined with more than 200 thousand manuscripts of Taras Shevchenko. 24-3D tours of museums and attractions related to the life and works of Taras Shevchenko also developed especially for him. In the future, the site will be posted materials collected from 50 localities, 30 streets, 90 institutions that bear the name of or related to the personality of Taras Shevchenko. In addition, 800 digitized works from the artistic heritage Shevchenko-artist, and described in detail 335 of his drawings, prints, watercolors and paintings. Also about 300 archival documents related to the life and works of Taras Shevchenko were digitized recently.
Everybody had an opportunity to read directly in the hall materials of the new resource at specially installed interactive displays.
After the presentation of the portal "Taras Shevchenko" Stanislav Dovgiy handed to the active participants in its creation rewards Junior Academy of Sciences - Shevchenko special medals minted for this anniversary.
The first day of events KPI, dedicated to the 200th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko, ended with a concert at the Center for Culture and Arts, which was made by members of university art collectives.
