The staff of the Department of Economics and Business, Faculty of Management and Marketing actively trains students for Ukrainian Olympiads and competitions. At the department a creative team, consisting of highly qualified specialists in the field of economics, led by the Head of the Department Professor P.V.Krush was established. The preparatory work is carried out in the following directions: "Banking", "Investment", "The tax system", "Insurance", "Finance", "Regional Economy", "Organization of production", "Planning and control of production,"

An important step in training students for the All-Ukrainian competition is carrying out annual internal Olympiad of the Department of Economics and Business, which is called "Know yourself in the economy." To participate in it students of both economic and technical specialties are invited. This event provides an opportunity to find out talented students - candidates to participate in the All-Ukrainian Olympiads.
The highest achievement of the Department of Economics and Business in such competitions the last time was a victory of the 5th year student Julia Teslyuk in the II stage of Ukrainian Student Olympiad on specialty (direction) "Enterprise Economy", which took place April 8-10, 2013 in Poltava National Technical University named after Yuri Kondratyuka. Julia got II place among 150 participants from 76 leading universities in Ukraine.
By the end of stage II of Ukrainian Student Olympiad on Science "Regional Economics" students of the department of economics and business achieved significant results:
- Student 1st year Fatima Alaricki took I place in the nomination "For validity of thought";
- Student 2nd year Andrey Danilov took III place in the nomination "For creative thinking."
Students of 3rd year of a specialty "Economics of Enterprise" Yaroslav Prokopenko, Mary Trohimenko and Catherine Kirikovich got the gratitude for the successful participation in the Olympic Games in the discipline "tax system".
Evidence of the high level of training of students of the Department of Economics and Business is a victory in the university competition on accounting. In particular, students of the 3rd year of a specialty "Economics of Enterprise" Maria Trohimenko and Yaroslav Prokopenko took I place and received diplomas of I degree, Catherine Kirikovich and Natalia Bondarenko took II place and received a diploma of II degree.
Students of the Department of Economics and Business and the third consecutive year participate in the All-Ukrainian competition of diplom theses in "Economy Enterprise", which is held at the Donetsk National University of Economics and Trade named after M. Tugan-Baranovsky. Significant achievement in 2014 is that a student of "Economy Enterprise" Maria Karpova took a diploma of III degree for thesis on "Justification of economic efficiency of the implementation of the investment project in the company" Express Pekadzhing Solyushin ", made under the direction of Doctor of Economics, Professor Department of Economics and Business, V.M. Marchenko.

Evidence of the high professionalism of teachers of the department of economics and business, not only within the faculty of management and marketing, but also in working with students of technical faculties in the study of economic disciplines is a victory student Julia Gorbatyuk in the XIII All-Ukrainian competition "Youth - Energy of Ukraine - 2013: an open competition for young scientists and power engineering ", dedicated to the 115th anniversary of the NTUU "KPI ". Scientific director of the work - Associate Professor of Economics and Business EG Sklovska. Julia Gorbatyuk received the diploma of I degree for her work on "Forecasting economic indicators of investment projects of thermal power plants with different technologies of power generation" in the category "Energy Economics" among students.
