Intensification of scientific researches is one of the most important tendencies in the higher school’s activity. The solution of this extremely important and difficult problem consists of several steps, and one of them is to reform curricula according to modern requirements of science and technology. In the department of aviation and cosmic systems during previous years there have been introduced a substantial modernization of curricula exactly for the aim of an increase of the science work’s effectiveness. This happened with the help of the project CRIST “Reformation of curricula in the cosmic technologies in Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine”, which was held according to the program TEMPUS.
One of the tasks of this project is an introduction of modern subjects in the educational system with the following students’ involvement in creative scientific work. New curricula were developed and they consisted of 10 subjects of bachelor’s and master’s aerocosmic course (aero- and racket-construction, avionics). The next step is the preparation and defense of bachelor’s degree thesis and master’s dissertations.
Realization of the acquired information in certain developments is impossible without modern experimental basis with innovative technical equipment. For this purpose during the realization of the project there was created a computering class for the implementation of CAD/CAM/CAE technologies and 2 laboratories: laboratory of satellites’ construction and land station of the satellite information’s reception.
One of the stages in an increase of effectiveness of science researches is holding scientific conferences. On 17-18th April 2013 in Kyiv Politechnic Institute there was held the VI International students and young scientists conference “Intellect. Integration. Reliability”, the participants of the conference were Ukrainian students and students from the Warsaw polytechnic as well on the basis of our universities’ collaboration. 26 scientific works of different thematics were presented during the conference, topics were different – for instance, the development of launchers, the II Polish students’ satellite, the development of the students’ microsatellite of KPI and its primary meters, computational approach of reliability of barometric altimeter, the development of unmanned aircrafts and robotized aeroplatforms on their basis, navigational accelerometer and a lot of others.
IX International scientific-technical conference “Hydraulic technology, navigation, motion control and construction of aviation-cosmic machinery” was also held during these days. There were three sections open on this conference: aviation and cosmonautics; devices and navigation and control systems; information technologies.
The plenary meeting began with the report of the dean of Faculty of Aircraft and Space Systems O.V.Zbrutskyi about faculty’s foundation history, scientific and technical achievements of his specialists. They mentioned a great role of M.A.Pavlovsky in the faculty and KPI scientific school foundation in aerospace field.
Science in KPI developed due to instrument making industry, always been well developed in Ukraine, which specialized in navigational instrument making industry. This line has now been developed intensively, that was proved by extremely interesting reports of the representatives of enterprise “Arsenal” and H.I.Petrovsky Kyiv automatics factory. 8 very interesting plenary reports were presented be Ukrainian and Russian representatives.
20 reports were presented in the section “Aviation and cosmonautics”. They can be divided into three groups. First one consisted of the reports about methods and ways of designing and computation of aviation machinery’s elements. The researches in the second one concerned to development of simulators and their analysis for aero and space machinery.
7 section and 18 stand reports in the section “Devices and systems of navigation and control” were presented by the representatives from NTUU “KPI”, National aviation university, Lviv national university, National airspace university “Kharkiv aviation institute”, P. Sahaidachnyi Land forces academy (c. Lviv), National enterprise “Factory Arsenal”, H.I.Petrovkkyi Automatics factory (Kyiv), Factory “Fiolent” (Simpheropol), V.I.Kusnetsov NDI of applied mechanics (Moscow), Faculty of Instrument Design and Engineering in NTUU “KPI”.
The reports zeroed in on the creation of new models of navigation instuments designing for aero and space machinery, first of all, strapdown guidance inertial navigation system, which are a basis for modern systems of control of moving objects nowadays.
46 reports in the section “Information technologies” were presented by the representatives from the Ministry of Defense in Ukraine, Lviv centre of Institute of space researches NAS and DKA of Ukraine,V. M. Hlushkov Institute of cybernetics of NAS of Ukraine, V. M. Hlushkov fund, DVNZ “Pryazovskyi national technical university”, National Chiao Tung University, state enterprise “Ukrmetteststandard”, SE “Antonov”, UNDCA “Zond”, KB “Shorm”, Faculty of Heat Power Energy and Faculty of Instrument Design and Engineering of NTUU “KPI”.
The presented reports prove that our university has a high level of science development and its actuality. One more conclusion can be made: true results can only be achieved on a basis of fundamental knowledge, which are created in the studying process and independent work of a student, a postgraduate, a scientist.
