President of Canadian international bureau of edecuation Karen McBride visited NTU “KPI” on 28th of May. CIBE is a national, bilingual, unprofitable organization which represents Canada in international cooperation in educational sphere.
President McBride had a meeting with the rector of NTU “KPI” and academician of Ukrainian NAS Mikhailo Zgyrovsky, vice-rector of inernational relations and associate of Ukrainian NAS Sergiy Sydorenko, deputy manager of the Department of international cooperation Eugene Polischuk and others.
After the presentation of university and its academic schools hold for the guest by Sergiy Sydorenko, and strories about KPI cooperation with scientific and educational institutions in Canada, the participants of meeting discussed questions about the expansion of cooperation and its possible forms.Karen McBride had a great interest of information about researchesv of sustainablr development which is hold in university, the introduction of educational programs in this field and the corresponding specialization. So the rector of university Mikhailo Zgyrovsky familiarized in detals with activity of the World data centre of geoinformatics and sustainable development which is the part of the World date centre system of International counsil of science and work on the base of NTU “KPI” . Then he demonstrated the work of the creation of its service access to data of coutries’ sustainable development and opportunities to conduct its comparison with indications in other countries. Afterwards only this trend became one of them, which is about the deployment of common scientific and educational projects which were discussed at the meeting. Among another one potentially interesting theme in this context is the setting up of partnership and innovational activity. One of the brightest form of organization in KPI is the Festival of innovational projects «Sikorsky Challenge», which provide not only a creative and competitive environment for scientists and engineers but also provides funding to the authors of innovative projects recognized by the best authoritative international judges. Participation in this or in another form of quality at the Festival could also become interesting for partners of Canada as think the participants of the meeting.
The results of conversation were agreement that the representatives of NTU “KPI” would take part in the conference of Canadian universities which is planned on November of this year; the expansion of topics and introduction of new formats in academic exchanges and setting up contacts between NTU “KPI” and Canadian universities in the sphere of innovations.
