The third annual fair of Japanese universities "Education in Japan" was held on March, 16 in NTUU "KPI". The organizer of the fair was Ukrainian - Japanese Center of NTUU "KPI". The assisting of the organization of the fair center was provided by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Embassy of Japan in Ukraine , the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Japanese organization helping students (JASSO).
Firstly, the organizers had the aim to acquaint representatives of the universities of Japan's education system, the organization of scientific research, the conditions of study in Ukraine and secondly, to give information to Ukrainian students and high school students about educational programs of universities in Japan and the possibility to obtain education there, and, of course, to further establish inter-university cooperation. The representatives of three Japanese schools - University of Oita , University of Tsukuba, and Waseda Bunkakan language school in Tokyo attended the fair in Kyiv. The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan Toichi Sakata visited to Ukraine to Japanese Center of NTU "KPI" on the opening day. This year the organizers of the fair have moved away from loud, but not effective presentation format to a wide public of students of common universities. The bet was made on the target audience of young people who are interested in Japanese culture and science and really want to not only learn more about opportunities to study in Japan, but know the information about these or other aspects of scientific and cultural life of the country of the Rising Sun. There were persons who had interest in such aspects: the Scientific and Technical Library of KPI, which held fair, except undergraduate and graduate students of NTUU " KPI " also came the students of Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv, National Pedagogical Dragomanov University, National University of "Kyiv- Mohyla Academy ", Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman and other universities. The visitorsof the fair were able to listen the review of lectures of Japanese professors. The lecture " Econometrica and its examples » was read by Professor Masayoshi Yasuoka of Oita University and a lecture about " Translation of the novel " Crime and Punishment " and the Japanese naturalism " by Professor Yuri Kato of Tsukuba University . In addition, the organizers have provided to Ukrainian school and college students the opportunity to communicate with their peers who have been trained or training in Japanese universities. There were booths and printed materials of Japanese schools, the representatives of these universities give advice about applications and learning environments, as well as opportunities to get scholarships or part- time to stay in the country. Everyone who came that day to Ukrainian - Japanese Center, can get more information on these or other issues related to education and training in Japan from printed materials that they were prepared by workers of Ukrainian - Japanese Center of NTUU " KPI".
