There was an action ‘Lights sorrow’ on the 11th of March on the Knowledge Square at NTUU ‘KPI’ dedicated to the memory of Great Earthquake and Tsunami victims of 2011. The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Japan in Ukraine Sakata Toichi took part in the action.
The Vice Rector of NTUU ‘KPI’ Sergey Sidorenko, the director of the Ukraine-Japan Center of NTUU ‘KPI’ Osamu Midzutani and the author of the film ‘Aftershock’ dedicated to the tragedy and heroism of people, whose destinies changed after the earthquake and nuclear disaster on the Nuclear Power Station ‘Fukushima-1’, Ukrainian video controller and TV presenter Andrej Palchewskij addressed the participants of the action. The film was shown outdoors on the big screen after the meeting.
At the end of the action, dedicated to the memory of people who died during the earthquake and tsunami, the participants lighted candles.
The organizer of the action was the Ukraine-Japan Center of NTUU ‘KPI’ with the support of Japan Embassy in Ukraine.
