Each year, the State Intellectual Property Service of Ukraine conducts Contest "Invention of the Year." On March,31 the results of the contest "Invention of the Year - 2010" were summed up. The competition lasted from August, 1 to October, 31 and submitted 337 works (108 229 inventions and utility models). The winners were determined in the absolute "Best Invention of the Year" and in six branch such as "resource conservation, energy efficiency , environmental friendliness", "Information Technology, Telecommunications, Electronics", "medicine, biotechnology, agro", "healthy, safe and dignified life", "Modern industrial technologies, new technology and materials", "Construction and Transportation."
In absolute nomination - " Best Invention of the Year" recognized as the best invention patent number 89490 " Rocket-space system and method output payload into orbit ,"made by workers of CB "South" of M.Yangel.
And in the "Modern industrial technologies, new equipment and materials" (which had 57 participants) 1st place was awarded for inventions by patents of Ukraine № 89937 , № 90236 , № 90237 , № 89936 guarding the fibrous activated carbon material mark "Borisfen" way to get the device and how to activate it. One of the authors of these patents is a leading researcher of the department of chemical, polymer and silica Engineering on CEF, honored inventor of "KPI", Patent Attorney of Ukraine, and Ph.D. Alexander E.Kolosov.
The same set of similar patents and utility models ranked first in army competition "Best Invention of the Year 2010" in the category "Utilization of surplus weapons, equipment, ammunition and missiles." By the way, O.E.Kolosov was the winner of "Best Invention of the Year - 2009" in the category "Material support" as one of the authors Ukraine patent for utility model "container for storing ammunition" (see " KP" 10 December 2009 ).
