Living stories about poet Maksym Rylsky—Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (1943), Chairman of the Writers’ Union of Ukraine (1943–1946), director of the Institute of Art Studies, Folklore, and Ethnography (1944–1964)—were heard by students, faculty, and staff of KPI, as well as everyone who visited the Scientific and Technical Library on March 17 for a meeting with his grandson—also named Maksym Rylsky, a writer, public figure, and Honored Journalist of Ukraine.
The H.I. Denisenko Scientific and Technical Library comprises many important departments that provide ongoing, high-quality support for the university’s educational and research activities. Some departments have existed since the university’s inception, while others were established quite recently. Among the latter is the Department of Rare and Valuable Documents. In late fall 2025, it celebrated its 10th anniversary.
Two holidays almost coincide in time—All-Ukrainian Library Day and Education Workers' Day. As noted by the famous Ukrainian educator and publicist Vasyl Sukhomlynsky, “a library is a temple where spirituality is always born and preserved.” This year, these holidays coincided with the 45th anniversary of the H.I. Denysenko Scientific and Technical Library building. On this occasion, a round table discussion entitled “Community Space” was held there.
In March 2025, the KPI Scientific and Technical Library offered researchers a new service called "Data Steward" .
Work continues on the personal collections of professors at Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. One of the most significant collections in terms of quantity belongs to Professor I.D. Zhukov. Most of the publications found contain dedications from the authors. Perhaps this is not a personal library in the full sense of the word, but the collection accurately illustrates the scientist's scientific and social connections.
