Top managers of the nuclear energy industry visited the Institute of IATS in mid-March, visited laboratories and the research center, got acquainted with innovative approaches to education, met with students, researchers and teaching staff of the Institute and discussed the importance of training highly qualified specialists for the energy industry. Dr. Nathan Greenfield, a scholar and researcher in the field of literary theory and military conflict, author of many books, lives and works in Canada. For the second year in a row, he has been a volunteer at the FSP Sociology Department and regularly lectures to students, mainly undergraduate and graduate students. Pavlo Fedorchenko-Kutuev, Professor of the Department of Sociology at the FSP, spoke with him about his academic interests, his “discovery” of Ukraine, and his experience of communicating with Ukrainian colleagues and students. 

It is impossible to live in Ukraine and avoid the topic of war. The graphic art exhibition “Overcoming Darkness,” which was held at the Khmelnytsky Regional Art Museum, aims to explore the paradoxes and dramatic twists and turns of human life in times of crisis. The author of the works is a young artist and lecturer at the Department of Graphic Arts of the Institute of VPI, Serhii Hulevych. 

On April 24, as part of the International Youth Symposium on the History of Science and Technology "Priorities of Ukrainian Science" on the basis of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, the annual XXIII International Scientific and Practical Conference "History of the Development of Science, Technology and Education" on the topic "Fundamental Sciences as a Driver of Technological Transformations" was held online.

As part of cooperation with the Thermal Energy Cluster of Ukraine, teachers and students of the Department of Thermal and Alternative Energy of the Igor Sikorsky KPI Institute of Applied Chemistry visited the ARDENZ boiler equipment plant in Brovary.

One of UNESCO's priorities is to promote gender equality in all spheres of human activity. UNESCO chairs established at leading Ukrainian universities pay considerable attention to this issue. The UNESCO Department of Higher Technical Education, Applied Systems Analysis and Informatics has been operating at the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute for over a quarter of a century.

🏆 On May 28, 2025, the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance (NAHEQA) held its regular meeting, which resulted in the decision to accredit another educational program at Igor Sikorsky KPI.

Vladyslav Boyko, owner and executive director of KyivMedService, a national leader in the maintenance and repair of medical equipment, machinery, and instruments, is a graduate of the Department of Laser Engineering and Physical and Technical Technologies at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. A successful engineer and manager, he does not break ties with his alma mater. “We know everything about medical technology, and even a little bit more,” says the entrepreneur, "and we want to share our knowledge and experience with current students.
