On 12 September 2016 in NTUU ‘Igor Sikorsky KPI’ 2016 IEEE International Conference on Information and Communication Technologies and Radiotronics (UkrMiCo’2016) began.
The organizers of the Conference are the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, National Technical University of Ukraine ‘Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute’, IEEE Ukraine ComSoc Chapter, IEEE Ukraine (Kharkiv) Joint Chapter.
The Conference is a successor of the ‘CriMiCo’ held in the Crimea for many years. Due to the present occupation of Crimea by the Russian Federation, new counting of the conference on the topic mentioned has begun. Thus, the Conference is the twentry sixth and the first at the same time, as it is held in the capital of Ukraine for the first time indeed.
It also has is peculiarities in the organization of the preparation and operation.
First, it is the first conference in Ukraine with the status of a basic conference of the Academic Council of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. It was made for priotized consideration of the reports that reflect the notion of fiscal academic topics of the universities of Ukraine.
Secondly, the evaluation of the academic level of the papers is conducted by the members of the section #5 and other sections of the Academic Council of the Ministry, that constitute the Programme Committee and are the members of plenary sessions of the Conference.
Thirdly, when preparing to the Conference, the long-term experience of the ‘CriMiCo’ conference was used in the aspect of its support by IEEE and the indexation of the recommended reports in the world’s scientometric bases.
Fourthly, the representatives of the specialized enterprises and innovation-oriented information and communication companies regularly taking part in the Conference can contribute to move to a deeper level the cooperation of universities and academic bodies with industry and business.
Fifthly, the best fifty reports presented at the Conference and recommended by the Programme Committee, will be issued in a separate book in the USA.
The procedure of the Conference involves the representatives of industrial enterprises, academic, university and branch research organizations from many Ukrainian cities and town, as well as foreign guests.
The Conference began with its scientific coordinator – Vice Principal on scientific work of NTUU ‘KPI’, IEEE Senior Member, the member of NAS of Ukraine Mykhailo Ilchenko. He spoke about its peculiarities and participants.
The Principal of NTUU ‘KPI’, the member of NAS of Ukraine Mykhailo Zhurovskyi, greeted the academicians and representatives of industry and business, which had gathered for the Conference. He remarked that this twenty-sixth conference is the beginning of the new period of its holding, which would take place in Kyiv since. Mykhailo Zhurovskyi has also noticed the capacity of scientific and technical aspects of the Conference that unites leading Ukrainian scientists, scholars from foreign universities from 7 world countries and the representatives of transnational companies.
The Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, Vice President of Higher Education Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Professor Maksym Striha, also greeted the participants. ‘This Conference concerns the questions that have drastically changed the world,’ he said. ‘The changes were so deep that today we don’t even think of how increased our capacities got in last years…’ He remarked as well the political importance of the forum and expressed his confidence in Ukrainian science returning to Ukrainian Crimea some time.
In the first day, there were two plenary sessions, where a set of extremely interesting reports were presented: ‘The Internet of Things: the New Quality of Life’ (by Professor of NTUU ‘KPI’ O. Baranov); ‘Global tendencies in the development of telecommunication by 2020’ (by O. Yefremenko, ‘Nokia-Ukraine’ company); ‘High-quality Dielectrics for Telecommunication Systems’ (by A. Bilous, the member of NAS of Ukraine, IGIC NASU); ‘The Perspectives of Using Aerostratospheric Telecommunication Systems’ (by M. Zhurovskyi, M. Ilchenko, S. Kravchuk, V. Kotovskyi, T. Narytnyk, L. Tsybulskyi, NTUU ‘Igor Sikorsky KPI’); ‘Methods and means multispectral locationsground facilities’ (by А. Zubkov, V.Yunda, І. Prudius , S. Myroniuk, NU ‘Lviv Polytechnic’) and others.
By the way, first-years of the Institute of Telecommunication Systems of Igor Sikorsky KPI also joined the Conference. Familiarizing with the reports was a useful andsubstantial addition to the introduction course of the specialty.
After plenary sessions, the general session of the Conference’s Administration Committee and the members of the section #5 of the Academic Council of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine took place.
