Gennadiy Oleksiyovych Statyukha (24/03/1940, Spassky, RSFSR - 12.12.2012, Kyiv) – Doctor of Technical Sciences, Head of the Department of Cybernetics CTF, professor, founder of the scientific school – "Mathematical and computer modeling of chemical and technological processes and systems", President of the Ukrainian Engineering and Chemical Association, a member of the Environmental and Engineering Academy of Ukraine.

In 1962 Gennadiy graduated from Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, on specialty "Automatization of chemical production". From 1962 to 1967 he worked at the Kiev factory of chemicals. From 1967 to 1970 Gennadiy Oleksiyovych participated in the development of control systems for the technology of chlorination of alcohol at the Kyiv Institute of Automation. In 1969 he defended his master’s thesis.

Since 1970 G.O.Statyuha worked at KPI, at first as an assistant professor and after defending his doctor’s thesis (1984) – as a Professor. Since 1980, G. O. Statyukha headed the Department of Cybernetics of Chemical Technology Processes.

As part of the implementation of the international program “The Decade of Education for Sustainable Development” prof. Statyukha G. O. prepared the lecture course "The Fundamentals of the sustainable development of society", which has been read to masters of all specialties since 2008 academic year. Statyukha G. O. was responsible for 1.5-year program of masters’ training on Sustainable Development (IASA).

G. O.  Statyukha’s scientific heritage includes more than 500 scientific works, 9 textbooks, 5 monographs, 17 certificates of authorship and patents. He trained 14 candidates and doctors of sciences. Thanks to G. O.  Statyukha’s scientific and educational experience, "KPI" and the department were decently represented in international projects dealing with sustainable development and chemical engineering.

As confirmation of G. O.  Statyukha’s high level of work, his series of works in the area of environment and sustainable development was awarded  the famous American Fulbright Grant (2005).

For the diligent work Professor G. O.  Statyukha was awarded: for the best scientific work by the Ministry of Education (1983), the medal ENEA Ukraine for the best Software (1989), the diploma "All-Union Chemical Society n. a. D. I. Mendelyeev" (1985), the prize of KPI for the best textbook (1991), the medal of excellent education of Ukraine, in 2007 he received the diploma "The Teacher-researcher 2006" and the diploma of honored professor of KPI in 2008.
