On the 14th of October at the Center of Culture and Arts of National Technical University ‘Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute’ the closing ceremony of the festival ‘Sikorsky Challenge 2016’ was held. There the jury of the startups contest ‘Sikorsky Challenge’ and ‘Intel-Techno Ukraine’ competition announced the winners, and together with the representatives of investors presented awards and gifts to the authors of the best projects.
Traditionally, the first on the scene of the Center of Culture and Arts NTUU ‘KPI’ were the organizers and the members of the International Jury of the startups contest. There were announced 34 winners among 61 projects presented in the final of the competition. Their authors signed a memorandum of cooperation with potential investors or they were distinguished by the international expert jury.
The President Leonid Kuchma’s Foundation "Ukraine" pointed out these projects:
- Am_I_Fatigued;
- WhitestormJS 3D web framework;
- Lightning is an environmentally clean source of electrical power;
- Self-cleaning intake filter of wide application;
- Linear compact pyezogenerator of huge power;
- Device to facilitate communication between dumb people;
- Lasers in our life.
Аcademician V. Mihalevych Research and Technological Development of Ukraine foundation supported the following projects:
- Redoxfactor;
- Intelligent wireless charger;
- Safe MARK-GPS search device;
- Protective coating for shielding of electromagnetic radiation;
- Crystal Control;
- Remote-controlled chassis of good cross-country ability;
- Autonomous power system based on ultra capacitors for eleсtrobus;
- The energy efficient electrobus electric drive with a combined power;
- Mobile diving complex;
- Complex for monitoring power losses;
- Cybernetic prosthesis of the human musculoskeletal system.
The center of anti-crisis initiatives supported the following projects:
- Crystal Control;
- Two-channel bipolar neurostimulator;
- Module for correcting oil acidity;
- Development of a new method and apparatus for magnet marking of biological objects;
- Cybernetic prosthesis of the human musculoskeletal system;
- Multichannel sensor smoke analyzer for fire safety systems;
- Foresight and creation of socio-economic strategies for the development of Ukraine.
The company ‘Human Transparency Innovations’ supported the following projects:
- Ultrasonic flow cavitator;
- Foresight and creation of socio-economic strategies for the development of Ukraine;
- Creation of electrical appliances for agricultural purposes;
- Monitoring and improving the quality of agricultural products;
- System of precision agriculture based on remote sensing.
The company "PROGRESSTECH-Ukraine" supported the following projects:
- Autonomous power system based on ultra capacitors for eleсtrobus;
- The energy efficient electrobus electric drive with a combined power
The ‘Kernel’ company supported the following projects:
- Plantator Plus;
- Craft Scanner.
Smart Fusion Fund supported the project:
- Two-channel bipolar neurostimulator.
Business incubator ‘Be next IT’ supported the project:
- Sliiider.
The ‘101domain.ua’ company supported the project:
- Place in Space.
The company ‘Laboratory innovative clean technologies’ supported the project:
- Module for correcting oil acidity.
The international expert jury noted such projects in the following categories:
- Nomination ‘The best startup idea’ is for the project ‘Crystal Control’;
- Nomination ‘The best solution"’ is for the project ‘Cybernetic prosthesis of the human musculoskeletal system’;
- Nomination ‘The best technological solutions’ is for the project ‘Intelligent greenhouse’;
- Nomination ‘Best Business Model startup’ is for the project ‘Safe MARK-GPS search device’.
PJSC ‘Credit Agricole Bank’ noted the following projects:
- Lightning is an environmentally clean source of electrical power;
- Creative NGL space;
- Plantator Plus;
- Craft Scanner;
- Protective coating for shielding of electromagnetic radiation.
‘Huawei Ukraine’ company has noted following projects:
- A system of informational support to guide the blind and people with vision deficiency when moving within a city.
The awarding ceremony of ‘Intel-Techno Ukraine 2015-2016’ - the national round of the international competition ‘Intel-ISEF’ was particularly solemn.
The first people called to the stage by the presenters were those whose projects in all categories of the competition were supported by the partners and sponsors of the contest. They were awarded diplomas and certificates of international scientific communities and sponsors, as well as special prizes - mobile batteries, flash drives, Bluetooth headsets, quadcopters etc. Then the surnames were announced whose projects came the fourth, then third, second and finally the first. Finally, the superfinalists were announced. In addition to corresponding diplomas, they also got gifts from the sponsors.
Therefore, the winners of ‘Intel-Techno Ukraine 2015-2016’ are:
In the category “Computer Science” - Anton Kotsiubailo (“Development of information methods and means of diagnosing the quality of refrigerated products’. Cherkasy Physics and Mathematics Lyceum of Cherkasy City Council of Cherkasy oblast).
In the category ‘Robotics and Intelligent Machines’ - Vladyslav Marchenko ( ‘Information glove’. Lviv Regional Small Academy of Sciences).
In the category ‘Physics and Astronomy’ the first place was not taken. The second place was taken by Vladyslav Neskorodov ( ‘Non-contact fire fighting and prevention of fire centers with the help of high-voltage electrostatic field’. ‘Polytechnic Lyceum of NTUU “Igor Sikorsky KPI’, Kyiv).
In the category ‘Energetics’ - Valeriia Tyshchenko ( ‘Electricity generation using water waves.’ Kherson National Technical University and Dnipropetrovsk National University Kherson physico-technical lyceum of Kherson City Council).
In the category ‘Mathematics’ - Yuliia Suprun ( ‘Solving Diophantine equations of the first and second degrees by searching for links between coefficients.’ O. Butko Sumy Specialized School №10 of I – III degrees, Public Utility Sumy Regional Center of Extrascholastic Education and Work with Talented Youth).
In the category ‘Engineering’ - Dmytro Zhytnyk ( ‘Apparatus for cleaning indoor air from radioactive radon and its daughters.’ Kyiv Palace of Children and Youth).

[11 – 14/10/2016] The Fifth Festival of innovative projects “Sikorsky Challenge 2016” .
This is one the main and traditional annual events in the field of innovations of Ukraine. The festival gathers not only project designers in various fields of science and technology but representatives of big investment business. Engineers and business people from many countries of the world as well as outstanding scientists from National Academy of Science of Ukraine, professors and leading researchers from NTUU “Igor Sikorsky KPI” are the judges of the contest, the finals of which will take place in terms of festival.
