“Everything that is done all the better,” says her motto Alina Shulha. She is an Associate Professor of the Department of Design and Production of Radio Electronic Equipment of the Faculty of Radio Engineering.
When Alina graduated from school in 2004, she dreamed of doing something fascinating and helpful, becoming a professional and studying only at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. As a nosey and persistent student, she entered the Institute of Mechanical Engineering and never ever regretted it.
When Alina was a Master's student, she got interested in ultrasonic cavitation. The young team of the Applied Fluid Mechanics and Mechatronics Department, guided by Professor Oleksandr Luhovskyi, developed this research direction. Young developers have implemented their innovations: acoustic dispersants for spraying in a thin layer and a fountain; cavitation devices for mixing, disinfecting, and activating liquids, cleaning products, extraction; devices for filtering non-clogging liquids; units for drying and coagulation of aerosols, etc. - in various industries. The student joined the team of scientists and dived into creation. In her master's thesis, she presented the research results on ultrasonic liquid spraying. Later, she submitted her thesis on “Devices for ultrasonic liquid spraying in mechatronics systems”.
During her postgraduate studies, Alina Shulha got to work at the Faculty of Radio Engineering in parallel. The proposal to join the Faculty of Radio Engineering interested the young researcher. When she met her new team - creative, bold, sometimes even daring in their quest to learn something new – she did not hesitate and agreed. After graduating from the IME, the FRE became her vocation and a permanent place for her work.
Currently, Alina gives lectures to students, delivers laboratory and practical classes, attracts wards to science, as seen in numerous abstracts of articles written in co-authorship with her students. The teacher is also engaged in the life of the faculty, career guidance work, and more. It is necessary to add that Alina continues cooperation with the Applied Fluid Mechanics and Mechatronics Department - the researcher still has many plans and ideas for ultrasonic cavitation.
Today she has 65 scientific papers, including 20 articles in scientific journals and publications in international scientometric databases, one patent of Ukraine for an invention, and three for a utility model. She has participated in international scientific-technical conferences and exhibitions. She also got engaged in the implementation of state budget projects. Alina Shulha has recently got the title of Associate Professor. Thanks to her high scientific level and hard work, she won the University competition “Young Teacher-Researcher 2020”. In addition, in the summer, she received the Kyiv Mayor's Award for outstanding achievements of the talented youth in the development of the capital of Ukraine - the hero city of Kyiv in the nomination “Scientific Achievements”.
But our protagonist is not the only one living by science. She is the mother of a charming little princess and devotes her free time to family. He also enjoys meeting friends and traveling, exploring new places in Ukraine and abroad.
It is always a pleasure to rejoice for the young, promising, and successful. Young people have opportunities, desires, and perseverance. Their abilities and talents are revealed in a friendly environment of like-minded people and relatives. So the result and recognition will come soon.
