About two years ago Ukrainian Rohde & Schwarz in Ukraine has announced a competition to be gained from the company modern radio measuring equipment for the universities.
Each university had to present their vision of the proposed equipment use in the educational and research processes, laboratory and practical work. NTUU "KPI" won the competition. His program in terms of the use of radio equipment was found most effective. Soon winners received Rohde & Schwarz equipment, which included a digital oscilloscope series CME 250/350 MHz, arbitrary waveform signal generator NMF 2525/2550 (25/50 MHz), spectrum analyzer series NMS 1GHz / 3 GHz, synthesizer of high frequencies NM8135 (3 GHz). These devices immediately began to be used in the laboratory of telecommunication systems NTUU "KPI".
According to the vice-rector for scientific work, director of ESITS, NAS of Ukraine academician Mikhail Ilchenko, using these devices for the past two years significantly increased the quality of training, scientific research. In the second stage of our cooperation the company showed interest in the fact that the KPI as a powerful, multidisciplinary institution. So this equipment could be used not only in one unit, but possibly in other faculties. The idea of our partners began to put into practice - Faculty of Radio Engineering students now also are using this modern instrumentation.
December 3, 2014, a meeting between Mikhail Ilchenko, experts of ESITS, FRE with the manager of department of measuring equipment Rohde & Schwarz Maxim Garbuz was held in the premises of the laboratory of the telecommunication systems Institute. Representatives of the University described in detail the use of devices in the laboratory, described hardware options, interest in other developments and proposals of the company. Maxim Garbuz answered questions, spoke about the various options offered by the company to supply its products, namely high quality instrumentation. He said that company wishes that as many as possible students take part in the work with this instrumentation. He said that the main thing for them that higher quality, comprehensive work will be carried with these devices, as many as possible students took part in this and as much as possible the needs and requests are met by the company.
Finally, both sides expressed their wish to develop contacts in directions defined at the meeting. "Thank you. We will actively and, most importantly, more effectively work together", - said Mikhail Ilchenko.
