On September, 10 another ranking QS World University Rankings 2013/14 was published covering 4 % of the best universities in the world. Four Ukrainian universities were included in the rating. The best position this year took Kyiv National Taras Shevchenko University, the second among national universities included in the list is the National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute" and finally Donetsk National University and the National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute".
Educational institutions were evaluated according to six factors. The main among them is the academic reputation of the university, which is calculated according to the survey of educators from around the world (this year it was estimated by 62,000 teachers and researchers). In addition, trimmers of the ranking took into account the opinion of the industry worker’s, employing university graduates - feedback on the quality of training received from nearly 28,000 of employers. The rank place was influenced also by the ratio of faculty professors to students, citation index of scientific papers published by the University, the number of foreign students at the university and the number of foreign affiliates that it opened.
As for the ranking leaders, three years in a row the first three steps of the so called “podium of awe” are hold by three world-renowned universities that only switched places. So this year MIT University (USA) has become the world's best universities, the second is Harvard University (USA), third - Cambridge University (UK).
