Congratulations to the fifth-year students of the NTUU "KPI" Institute of the Mechanical Engineering, academic group ML-31m, Andrii Nikitchenko for winning a silver medal in the Second World Games of Martial Arts (Sport Accord World Combat Games), that took place in St. Petersburg ( Russia) from 18 to 26 October, 2013.
On his way to final competition in the weight category over 90 kg in the Wrestling Game on belts Alysh, our athlete overcame Masuda Haji Pura (Iran) and Victor Christian Hvebu (Swaziland ). In the final match Xia Kyrgyz Nurbek Akanovu won the first prize.
Neverthelesss, the victory is not the first for Andrew and his coach - lecturer in sports improvement at the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering, Master of Sports of the USSR in Greco- Roman wrestling Sergey Saienko: in the early October, Andrew won the "silver" at the XII World Championshipon of Wrestling on Belts Alysh , which took place in Poland. Also, he finished second in free style fighting (weight category - above 100 kg). At the end of spring, Andrii was awarded the title of European champion, after he won the "gold" at the Festival of traditional wrestling, held under the auspices of FILA in Lithuania (Palanga). Most important, Andrii managed to perform the master's of sports international class standard!
