Address: 37 Beresteysky avenue, Kyiv, 03056
Exposition of the Department of Aviation and Astronautics

The building of the former KPI aviation and automobile workshops, built in 1915-1916. During the First World War, the repair of airplanes and the manufacture of their individual parts were organized here. It was planned to create an aircraft factory on this basis, capable of producing up to 20 aircraft per month, but such production turned out to be unprofitable and was discontinued.

In 1918-1919, the workshops were used for practical classes of the Aviation Technology course.

In 1923-1925, the KPI glider club was active.

Later the premises were used as utility rooms.

In 1998, the State Polytechnic Museum was opened for visitors in the premises of the former KPI mechanical workshops, which included an exposition of the history of aviation and astronautics.

In 2007, a decision was made to preserve the auxiliary building of the former aviation workshops, reconstruct it and use it as part of the museum.

On May 14, 2008, a separate exposition of the Department of Aviation and Astronautics History of the State Polytechnic Museum at the National Technical University of Ukraine “KPI” was opened in the renovated historical building.
