115th Anniversary of the Birth of Sergei Korolev

On this day, January 12, 1907, Sergei Korolev was born. He was a student of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. Sergei Korolev is also considered the father of practical astronautics and a spacecraft designer.

He developed the ideas and implemented the first artificial satellite, intercontinental ballistic missile, and the first manned space mission.

Sergei Korolyov entered the Mechanical Faculty of Kyiv Polytechnic Institute in 1924 but later transferred to study in Moscow.
