From 19 until 24 June in the laboratories of the Department of Applied Hydro aeromechanics and Mechatronics of the Mechanical Engineering Institute the Second Summer School of Mechatronics was held.
The purpose of the school is to form students the outlook of future specialists, who will determine the directions of development of modern technology, automation and production without human involvement. The peculiarity of this year's school was the reports of "Industry 4.0" and "Bioprototypes of the latest technology", made by the CEO of the FESTO A.M. Kharchenko and the Head of the Didactics department E.S. Ryzhenko. The "Industry 4.0" platform illustrates how the artificial intelligence of robots and mechanisms, fulfilling production tasks, becomes a feature of corporate groups. "Biomechatron" robots imitate a butterfly, a bird, a dolphin, a trunk of an elephant, a kangaroo, ants in an antler. Nevertheless, the most interesting thing is internal mechanics, which allows a mechanical grandmother to hang in the air, and even move in the opposite direction, and the "mechanical cooperation" of the ants that help each other and join the group to move a heavy load.
There were over 30 applications from 8 universities for 22 workplaces with the necessary technical equipment. According to the best masters of the organizing department, six places were reserved, 16 other students represented the universities of Vinnytsia, Kherson, Lviv, Glukhiv and Kyiv. Teachers of the school Oksana Gonpantsurova, Alyona Muraschenko and Konstantin Belikov faced the fact that students from different universities saw differently the tasks of mechatronics. This is not surprising. After all, they represented quite different departments: vocational education and computer technologies, computer-integrated technologies and measuring equipment, construction machines, forest machines, technology and automation of mechanical engineering, technical cybernetics, applied hydro aeromechanics and mechanotronics, designing of machinery and equipment.
During the school, representatives of the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design, headed by the Dean of the Faculty of Mechatronics and Computer Science M.А. Zenkin and associate professor of Lviv Polytechnic of O.S. Machuga. Attention of teachers from other universities is clear – graduates of last year's Summer School took 7 out of 10 first places among the 18 teams of the Olympiad "Mechanical Engineering in 2016", 9 out of 10 first places in the personal score, 7 out of 10 seats in the open competition WorldSkills Ukraine in "mechatronics".
Unexpectedly for organizers entrants who came to our university attended classes almost every day. For some, the visit was an excursion, and two students joined students in the tasks of programming controllers.
On the last day of the training for the winners of competitions with artificial intelligence the Summer School certificates and an arbitrary program – solving their own proposed tasks were waiting. The mechatronic community of students received new supporters, who made one more step on the way from professional acquaintance to professional knowledge and professional self-affirmation.
