The Museum of Space was opened in Bukovyna, where the first cosmonaut of independent Ukraine Leonid Kadeniuk was born. The collective of the State Polytechnic Museum under Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute strongly supported the idea of opening the museum. Thanks to the support of activists, museum historians and private entrepreneurs, the opening took place in a landmark for Ukraine day, on the 21st of November 2018. 31 years ago from November 19 to December 5 1997 Leonid Kadeniuk performed his space flight.
Today in the Museum of Space there are books and interesting photographs of astronauts, mock-ups and models of aircrafts, which in different years overcame earthly gravity and fly around the planet Earth. Special attention in the exhibition is payed to Leonid Kadeniuk (there is his secondary education diploma among his exhibits). The impressions of the museum are complemented by the banners on the space theme. Separate thematic posters reveal the contribution of Chernivtsi citizens to the space industry. In particular, local enterprises and scientific centers that worked on it are represented. There are display cases that reveal the first steps in the development of space, devoted to joint international projects; there are those that show the achievements of the countries that created spacecrafts; they reveal the advanced technological developments of the XX-XXI centuries, indicate the possible ways of further development of Ukraine, add pride for the country, contribute to the formation of its scientific change. Further expansion of the museum's exposition in the next two years is planned. We believe that the museum will become a unique historical, scientific, cultural and tourist center
