Maneuvering tank-locomotive 0-3-0 designed for moving the goods in confined areas, where there is a need for frequent stops and movement on curves with small radius.
Feature of the machine - placing of water and fuel stocks directly on the locomotive in tanks (hence the name of tank-locomotive), which reduced its size. It was issued in the USSR in 1935-1957.
The locomotives of this series worked almost all over the USSR in fields, combines, railway stations, they could work on coal, oil, peat, firewood. These were the most advanced, easy to maintain, reliable and workable machines.
Tank-locomotive 9P № 17485 made by Murom's Steam Locomotive Plant named after Dzerzhinsky in 1954. It was used for maneuvering works at Darnytsia HEGS-4 "Kyivenergo" in 1954-1965. Kyiv thermal power station-3 "Kyivenergo" in 1965-1974.
Technical features:
Coupling weight, kg - 45500-54000
Minimum curve of turning radius, m – 40
Power, hp – 320
Maximum speed, km / h – 35
In the years 1898-1930 in the KPI at the Faculty of Railway Engineers trained railway engineers. In the 1930s, the Dnepropetrovsk Institute of Railway Engineers was founded on the base of the Faculty.
The maneuvering tank-locomotive was repaired and transferred to the State Polytechnic Museum at NTUU "KPI" in 2001. It is located on the territory adjacent to the 6th building of the KPI.
