October 22 one of the most active veterans of Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kiev, Honored Space Technology Tester, senior researcher at the State Polytechnic Museum "KPI", academician of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences of National Progress Anatoly Grygorovych Dormidontov celebrated his 80th Birthday. In 1943, his 15th anniversary, he met in the barracks of the special Air Forces school №4 of the USSR city Sarapul in Udmurtia. Since then, his life is connected with the aviation and strategic missile forces. After special school he graduated with honors from the 1st Moscow Military Aviation School of Communications, and worked as a teacher for 4 years. Then Anatoliy Grygorovych started his research activity. He entered the Kharkov aviation engineering higher military school, which also graduated from with honors. Again he was working as a teacher and performing the research. Since 1961 the scientist was engaged in creation of quantum generators for satellites and the single time services.

In 1964 A. G. Dormidontov became the head of the laboratory at the Research Testing Ground №5 of the Defense of the USSR (known to all as Baikonur). In 1965 it was included into the group of leading testers combat missile system (BRC) UR-100. Since 1967 A. G. Dormidontov was involved into the implementation of the GDR. He was the main executor responsible for combat effectiveness assessment methodology of BRC.
After the transferring to reserve (due to the age) A. G. Dormidontov had been working in research and design institutes in Kyiv, he was engaged in the creation of new technology, the development of applicative metrology, standardization work. He created the device measuring radioactivity of medicines which is included to the State Register of measurement.
A. G. Dormidontov was one of the founders of the Federation of Cosmonautics of Ukraine (FCU), and for all years of its existence he was a member of the presidium. For 1994-2002 Dormidontov was the First Vice President of FCU. He is the author of the exposition plan of Kyiv Museum of Cosmonautics, contributed to its development. In 1994-1997 Anatoliy Grygorovych was a Member of the organizing committee of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine responsible for preparing celebration of Yu. Kondratyuk’s (Sharhey) 100th anniversary. He participated in creation of the State Polytechnic Museum of NTUU "KPI" and for several years was a member of the Academic Council of the museum. He was the initiator and a participant of several scientific readings about space in the DPM. He worked at the Museum of Aviation, since April 2007 he has been working in DPM. He was one of the founders of the new Department of Aviation and Cosmonautics in DPM.
A. G. Dormidontov was awarded the Order of the Red Star (1966), several medals and honorary awards, including honors of the NAS of Ukraine "For the Advancement of Science" , Tsiolkovsky Order by the Cosmonautics Federation of Russia, medal "The Overcoming" by the Association of Space Museum of Russia. He is the author of over 80 scientific papers and 22 patents.

Award to the veteran
Anatoliy Grygorovych Dormidontov, a senior researcher of DPM was awarded the distinction of NAS of Ukraine "For the Advancement of Science" (number 22) for significant contributions to the development of technical and technological rocketry.
3 October the award was handed by veteran Boris Paton – the President of the National Academy of Sciences at the meeting of Council on Space Research of NAS of Ukraine.
Anatoliy is one of the founders of Cosmonautics Federation of Ukraine, the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences of National Progress, Academy of Astronautics of Russia, honored tester of space technics and of the Baikonur etc.
