The Memorial Day of the first cosmonaut of independent Ukraine, Hero of Ukraine, Major-General of Aviation, People's Deputy of Ukraine of the 4th convocation Leonid Kadeniuk was celebrated on March 13 at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
In the late forties of the last century, the rocketry was intensively developing in the Soviet Union. The first domestically produced ballistic rocket P1 was launched on October 10, 1948 from the Kapustin Yar.
On April the 1st the first astronaut of independent Ukraine, a Ukrainian Hero and a Major General Leonid Kostiantynovych Kadeniuk gained a diploma and the degree of Honorary Doctor of Aircraft and Space Systems Faculty of National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute".
In March 1960 Pavel Popovich, together with Yuri Gagarin was enrolled in the first group of cosmonauts. I think their paths similarity is not accidental. Each of them after receiving specialty - whether in school or in college - could stop, start a measured life.
