Today, as Ukraine continues to navigate a period of profound economic, social, and demographic transformation, professional dialogue, academic cooperation, and the exchange of practical experience among representatives of academia, business, and the educational community have become increasingly important.
Despite the challenges of wartime, university research continues to develop dynamically, creating opportunities for professional discussion, the search for modern management solutions, and the expansion of international cooperation. In this context, the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Business, Innovation, Management: Challenges and Prospects" has become a well-established tradition of the Faculty of Management and Marketing. Each year, it brings together researchers, practitioners, early-career scholars, and higher education students to discuss the most pressing issues in business development and management. This year's conference, held on April 23 and organized for the seventh time, once again demonstrated its relevance and strong professional appeal, attracting more than 100 participants from various regions of Ukraine as well as from Poland, Germany, and Finland.
The participants were welcomed by Viktoriia Derhachova, Doctor of Economics and Professor, Head of the Department of Enterprise Management; Irena Pawlyszyn, PhD and Adjunct at Poznan University of Technology; as well as representatives of the academic community and partner higher education institutions. Their remarks emphasized the need to develop resilient management models, strengthen the role of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in modern business, and expand international academic cooperation as a key instrument for professional development, the exchange of experience, and the implementation of joint educational and research initiatives.
The conference featured a wide range of research presentations addressing current challenges in business, management, and economics in the context of wartime conditions, digital transformation, and European integration. Participants represented higher education institutions, research organizations, and the business sector, including Poznan University of Technology (Poland), Vasyl Stus Donetsk National University, Ukrainian National Forestry University, Ivan Franko National University of Lviv, Kyiv University of Intellectual Property and Law of the National University "Odesa Law Academy", State University of Information and Communication Technologies, the logistics company Global Ocean Link, and a number of other academic institutions and organizations.
The presentations covered a broad range of topics related to the green transition, ESG strategy development, business digitalization, innovative management approaches, and strengthening business resilience in times of uncertainty. Particular attention was devoted to examining the impact of European ESG reporting practices on the managerial and investment decisions of Ukrainian companies, as well as the role of sustainable development in Ukraine's integration into the European economic area.
A separate session focused on the resilience of Ukrainian businesses under wartime conditions, the digital transformation of business processes, and the development of new management models. Speakers emphasized the evolving approaches to strategic business management, the growing adoption of platform-based business models, the implementation of artificial intelligence technologies, and the concept of Human–AI teaming as a new paradigm for collaboration between people and intelligent digital systems in enterprise management.
The conference also addressed issues related to information security for critical infrastructure enterprises. Presenters highlighted the importance of developing comprehensive cybersecurity management systems based on process-oriented and risk-based approaches to enhance organizational resilience against today's evolving cyber threats.
A significant part of the discussions was devoted to the digitalization of logistics and industry. In particular, participants explored the prospects for implementing Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in international logistics chains, integrating advanced digital logistics models into Ukraine's post-war recovery processes, and the role of decentralized energy solutions and risk-based approaches in strengthening the resilience of industrial enterprises.
Considerable attention was also given to the development of marketing communications, market analytics, inflation forecasting, and project-based change management. Researchers and industry professionals emphasized that today's business environment requires flexible management strategies, the development of digital competencies, and the active adoption of innovation across all areas of enterprise operations.
Following the plenary session, the conference continued in parallel thematic sections, allowing participants to focus on specific research areas, exchange scientific findings, and share practical experience. The outcomes of the conference have been compiled in the Proceedings of the 7th International Scientific and Practical Conference "Business, Innovation, Management: Challenges and Prospects", which are available on the official website of the Department of Enterprise Management.
