Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute welcomed a delegation from the House of Representatives of Japan led by its Speaker Eisuke Mori, accompanied by Representative Masahito Moriyama and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Ukraine Yo Osumi, together with representatives of the Embassy of Japan.

✅ For Eisuke Mori, this was his first visit to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion. It was his second visit to Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute—he first visited the university in 2015. Masahito Moriyama had also previously visited the university, in 2024, when he served as Japan’s Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.

⚙️ One of the key topics of the meeting was strengthening cooperation in engineering education and science. Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is ready to serve as a platform for interaction among Ukrainian and Japanese universities and technology partners in areas that are important for Ukraine’s recovery and technological development:

🔺 energy resilience;
🔺 robotics and automation;
🔺 cybersecurity;
🔺 nuclear energy;
🔺 artificial intelligence.

📌 The participants also discussed the role of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute as an important center of Ukrainian-Japanese cultural and educational dialogue. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the university’s Ukrainian-Japanese Center. Over the years, it has become a platform for cooperation with JICA, The Japan Foundation, Japanese universities, and companies.
The Center’s initiatives include the Japanese Autumn festival, Japanese language programmes, and the administration of the international Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT).

🤝 During their visit, the guests viewed exhibitions at the State Polytechnic Museum, including “Sumo: Rikishi. Strength and Spirit,” and visited the Denysenko Scientific and Technical Library of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and the Ukrainian-Japanese Center. There, they viewed the “Thank You, Japan” photo exhibition and the exhibition of works by American photographer Mark Edward Harris, “Onsen: The Journey of Purifying the Soul and Body.”

🇯🇵 We thank Japan for its unwavering support for Ukraine.

Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute is open to further strengthening Ukrainian-Japanese partnership—from education and culture to science, engineering, and joint technology projects.
