On December 4, 2024, the Faculty of Linguistics of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute once again became a platform for international scientific dialogue. This time, it was within the framework of the International Scientific and Practical Student Online Conference and Research Paper Competition “Science and Technology of the XXI Century”.

Students from Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, National Technical University “Dnipro Polytechnic”, Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Pedagogical Academy in Piotrkow Trybunalski (Poland), Cyprus University of Technology, Hellenic Mediterranean University (Greece) and University of Granada (Spain) took part in the event, which combined science, innovation and foreign language communication.

The conference was held in two stages. The first one, from October 1 to November 10, 2024, was the selection of scientific papers. A total of 256 students submitted their papers this year, and 42 papers were shortlisted. The second - on December 4, 2024 - is when the finalists will present their research in the format of an online presentation defense.

The conference was opened by the Chair of the Organizing Committee, Dean of the Faculty of Linguistics, Professor Zoia Korneva, and Co-Chair of the Organizing Committee, Head of the Department of Technical English #2, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor Yuliana Lavrysh.  As part of the plenary session, Professor Lavrysh also presented a thorough report on “Artificial Intelligence in Foreign Language Learning,” which became a vivid example of the synthesis of technology and education.

In their presentations, the participants covered a wide range of topical issues: pioneering research in science, technology and socio-economic development; strategic visions of the future of humanity; innovations in information technology, energy and sustainable development; challenges in the use of resources and the introduction of new technologies; linguistic innovations. A total of 27 reports were presented. 

The best presentations were selected at the end of the conference:

First place - Nazar Boruta (National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”), Ivan Oliynyk (National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”), Artem Khilchuk (Faculty of Information Technology, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute), and others. Darya Moskalenko (National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic”), Anastasia Prozor (FBMI, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute), Maryna Kaliuzhna (FMM, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute), Anastasia Lysenko ( FIOT, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute), Artem Marchenko (FTI, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute).

II place - Violeta Akhmedova (FBMI, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute), Bohdana Ruzhytska (FBMI, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute), Pavlo Pavlenko (ISZZI, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute), Diana Pylova (FPM, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute). Honglin Yang (Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain), Dongsheng Yu (University of Granada, Spain), Justyna Swierczek (Piotrkowska Pedagogical Academy, Poland).

 III place - Yuriy Bondarchuk (ISZZI, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute), Victoria Popova (FBMI, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute), Diana Samoray (FBMI, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute).
