Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was visited by a delegation of the National Social Service of Ukraine (National Social Service) headed by its head Vasyl Lutsyk.
Rector of the University, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine Mykhailo Zgurovsky, Vice-Rectors Oleksiy Zhuchenko and Anatoliy Melnychenko, members of the Faculty of Sociology and Law Yuriy Perha, Roman Bohachev and Olga Potishchuk met with the guests.
The participants of the meeting discussed the prospects of cooperation between the National Social Service and Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and the establishment of relations with other interested third parties, after which Vasyl Lutsyk and Mykhailo Zgurovsky signed a memorandum of cooperation between the Service and the university. The provisions of this document will be implemented by promoting the involvement of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute graduates in professional development programs for industry employees and improving their skills, organizing internships for university students in relevant structures, mutual participation of the parties in scientific and practical projects, training programs, etc. The cooperation also includes volunteer activities, anti-violence measures, and the provision of quality social services to Ukrainian citizens.
Vasyl Lutsyk emphasized the need to train specialists who will be able to perform a wide range of tasks, including combating domestic and sexual violence. The National Social Service and the University's Faculty of Sociology and Law will conduct joint training programs and research. Olha Potishchuk, Associate Professor of the Department of Philosophy at the Faculty, emphasized that the work will be carried out in various areas: gender equality, combating domestic violence, helping children, the homeless, and other problems that our state and society are currently facing.
For reference: The National Social Service of Ukraine is a central executive body, whose activities are directed and coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine through the Minister of Social Policy, and which implements state policy in the field of social protection of the population, protection of children's rights, state control over compliance with the requirements of the legislation in the provision of social support and observance of children's rights.
Kyiv Polytechnic Institute together with the National Social Service of Ukraine will develop social protection of the population in times of war.
The cooperation envisages volunteer activities, combating violence and providing quality social services to Ukrainian citizens.
