Nine KPI students became the winners of the academic scholarship of the President of Ukraine. At the meeting of the Academic Council, Rector Michael Zgurovsky congratulated and awarded the most talented students.
Olga Balyasina, a 3rd year student of IASA, was among the winners. The young innovator was awarded for the author's development of the medicinewarriors website. This is an interactive map for patients with diabetes. It provides the most accurate information about the location of insulin pharmacies in Ukraine in a user-friendly format.
Olha says that the idea for the project did not come about by chance. Due to the full-scale war, more than 2.3 million insulin-dependent people with diabetes have problems accessing the insulin on which their lives depend.
The website was created as part of the Code4Ukraine International Hackathon. In just 24 hours, Olha, together with students from Poland and Georgia, developed a working prototype of the site, which became the undisputed winner of the competition.
