Professor of the Department of International Economics, scientist, manager and organizer O.A. Havrysh turned 60 on August 7.
Oleg Anatoliyovych is a 1986 graduate of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. He received a diploma with honors in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Metal Cutting Machines and Tools. Later, in 1989, he completed his postgraduate studies at the Institute of Superhard Materials of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. From 1986 to 2004, he worked in scientific and managerial positions at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and industry research enterprises, including the defense industry, participated in and led the development of modern weapons.
He continued his work at KPI in February 2004. He held the positions of Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Management and Marketing (2005-2006), Dean of the FMM (2007-2021), Head of the Department of International Economics (2009-2016), Scientific Director of the Department of International Economics (2016-present), Professor of the Department of International Economics (2004, 2006, June 2021-present).
In 1998, Oleh Anatoliiovych defended his dissertation for the degree of Candidate of Technical Sciences in the specialty "Mechanical Engineering Technology". In 2003, he defended his dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences in the specialty "Arms and Military Equipment". In 2006, he was awarded the academic title of Professor of the Department of International Economics, and in 2020, he received the honorary title of Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine.
Professor Havrysh is a laureate, together with a team of co-authors, of the Mashprom Scientific and Technical Society Award (1987), and a laureate of the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute Award for the best textbook (2022). His active work has been recognized by diplomas and letters of appreciation from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Kyiv City State Administration, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and the FMM.
From 2009 to 2015, Oleh Anatoliiovych headed the Department of International Economics, and since 2015 he has been the scientific adviser of this department. From 2007 to 2021, Professor Havrysh was the Dean of the Faculty of Management and Marketing. During this period, the faculty reached certain heights, one of which is being included in the Forbes magazine rating, where the FMM was ranked first among the management faculties of all higher education institutions in Ukraine.
Over the years of engineering, production and scientific activity, O.A. Havrysh has published more than 420 scientific and methodological works, including more than 50 monographs, textbooks and manuals. Among the works are more than 150 professional articles and 15 articles indexed in the Scopus scientometric database. His successful inventive activity is evidenced by about 100 copyright certificates, patents of Ukraine and foreign patents.
For almost 20 years of scientific and pedagogical activity, Oleh Anatoliyovych Havrysh has trained four Doctors of Sciences and 14 Candidates of Sciences, including two Doctors of Philosophy (PhD). He founded the Dissertation Council D 26.002.23 for the defense of doctoral and candidate dissertations at the FMM, which has defended about 150 doctoral and candidate dissertations over the years. He is the founder and head of the first and only scientific school "Economics and Management of Enterprises" at the FMM.
Oleg Anatolyevich was also active outside the university: in 2007-2015, he was a member of the presidium and chairman of the subcommittee "Management of the production sector" of the Educational and Methodological Commission on Management of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. This commission accredited higher education institutions in the specialty of Management and formed a policy of its development, taking into account the requests of employers.
